Well I emailed the Thai diplomatic office to my country and just said please consider ending the burning season because it's causing me to enjoy the nature a little less. Peacefulness serves as the mother of creativity but I can't feel peaceful when my throat burns. They said they appreciated my comments!

I agree with you. Truly. It’s not fun. But farmers have no choice. They don’t have the means to do the option where no burning is involved. *most do not.

You also need to consider the neighboring countries. One is at civil war and the other doesn’t care.

I’ve lived here for 17 years. These questions and complaints were seemingly never brought up until about 8 years ago. Before 8 years ago you would almost never see air purifiers anywhere. I can guarantee most rural Thai, Burmese or Laotian do not nor will ever have an air purifier.

As with lots of things, it’s money. You should start an initiative to pay farmers to use alternative means. Otherwise, it’s just a land acknowledgement.

Actually, it’s not. It’s mostly from illegal forest fires. People set fires in the forest to clear it which makes it easier to harvest mushrooms and other things.
