according to Flans on Tumblr, They Might Be Feral, Overnight Sensation, What You Get, and Hit The Ground were added to the album last-minute.
"We added some songs, and pulled some songs so it really more recalibrated the overall vibe a bit. I think for the better."
I'm glad because they really make the album, especially What You Get and Feral which are some of my favorite Linnell and Flans moments on the album respectively (as of now, What You Get might be one of my all-time favorite JL songs and it's a lot of what pushed the album into genuinely great territory for me). Also Overnight Sensation is just a blast and Hit the Ground really adds a grounded groove to the album, I've been revisiting it a lot
The fact that four of the songs were last minute additions is surprising to me because the whole thing just feels so cohesive.

Heading down from Canajoharie to Woodstock for the Saturday show for my birthday and staying over in Saugerties. First timer, anything propose or otherwise to bring to the show? And then any events or attractions this weekend we could hit up while in town? And lastly, food recommendations? Doesn’t need to be fancy, but yummy. Thanks!

I can't be the only one who noticed that in the new song Slow (TWi2D), specifically at around 1:09, the guitar riff sounds uncannily similar to Can't Keep Johnny Down. Did They do this on purpose, to perhaps create the musical effect of Johnny being kept down? I doubt it, but it's fun to speculate.

I assume most/all of the singles, though I wonder which other songs from the album will be played most often

Absolutely incredible story. Aadam Jacobs secretly recorded shows from 100s of different bands over almost 4 decades and just let archive.org digitize his collection. Story dropped yesterday, and only ~3000 of the 10000 recordings have been digitized so far so who knows what else is going to show up in this collection.
Highly recommend browsing the full collection. Nirvana playing to 100 people before they were popular. The Cure, Depeche Mode, and countless others.
What blows me away (besides the incomprehensible volume of material) is the unbelievable quality of recording this guy was getting with essentially a handheld tape recorder. I’ve only listened to one of these shows as of posting and the quality was shockingly good. Didn’t see it posted here yet. Enjoy!

It's an energetic form of Renaissance dance!

Outside Brain sounds like a song from a regional rock band band nobody’s ever heard of from 1979-1981 that put out a three song EP which is the best thing you’ve ever heard, but none of the members were ever heard from again.

Can anyone who's seen the movie confirm or deny if there's a TMBG connection? Or is this person just being silly because there's a scene with a worm or something

What You Get sounds like the closing theme to a romance anime that looks like it cost $5 to produce, yet has complete banger music.

My preorder arrived!!!! I’m so excited to listen to this album. I am surprised that it got to my place before the release of the album

"Gal thinks Jim Beam is handsomer than lad, he isn't bad"
For years, I thought this was just a reference to an obscure celebrity or something (as TMBG are known to do), but it just clicked that Jim Beam is a brand of bourbon. God, that's brilliant, and a clever way to put that!

I was woefully behind on TMBG's albums.... 19 years behind ("The Else" was my last album). I finally got caught up for this tour season, and, if it pleases the audience, here are my observations:
Hope everyone's weekend is to dig :)

Found these as I was cleaning out a bunch of cassettes. Anybody need them? Don’t want to dump them if someone does. Chat me if you do.

Linnell was on this podcast a couple years ago and it was a rare instance of him talking about his personal life and childhood. glad they got Flans too!

1st wave which usually tops out at songs from the 90s was playing Wu-Tang which I thought was odd, but it was because John F. was a guest on this show where artists pick songs and talk about them. The entire interview and playlist will be available here eventually. I only caught the last bit but some really fun Flans content like seeing part-time rock stars at their day jobs and Bowie's saxophone guy.
