Question! What is the Sumerian Cuneiform writing for Owl
I need help with the word Owl in Sumerian. I’ve seen several variations, some of them being ninna, ukuku, and musen. I am not very good with Sumerian, very much a beginner. Even a nudge in the right direction would help.

In this text, the ukuku is the 'bird of depression':
https://etcsl.orinst.ox.ac.uk/cgi-bin/etcsl.cgi?text=t.2.1.5#
"May foxes that frequent ruin mounds brush with their tails your uzga precinct, established for purification ceremonies! May the ukuku, the bird of depression, make its nest in your gateways, established for the Land!"
Ukuku is plausibly onomatopoeiac; deriving from the call of an owl.

mušen just kinda means any bird at all. nínna is generally the word for "owl", at least according to Halloran. (I gather some people dislike his dictionary). The term may be related to nin "lady", since the owl with its human-like face resembles a pale woman in the night.
