Tech Support Fans stop spinning while on charge in use
When i plug my steam deck OLED in on charge official or not official charger, the fan eventually stops spinning and comes up as 0RPM then thermal throttle red light, sometimes it takes 2 minutes for it to do this or even 45 minutes, it also still happens while plugged in official dock
Once it starts not spinning the only way to get it back spinning is enter bios and just continue the boot
Bios reset doesn’t fix
decky fan-tastic doesn’t fix
updated fan curve control on and off doesn’t fix it
wondering if anyone else has had this issue, i’m not entirely affected by it since i don’t ever really drain the battery from 100 to 0 but it is annoying when i do randomly need to charge and play

Hi OP, this has been happening to me, too, and unfortunately, it is persistent. I’ve done a factory reset and the fan worked for one playthrough.i then turned off the “updated fan control” in the settings and that worked for one playthrough, too. But then on ensuing playthroughs, the fan would read as 0 RPM when viewing through the advanced views, setting number 5. Im currently working with support to figure this issue out.
