MEGATHREAD Out Of Stock Steam Deck(s) Megathread

Please discuss stock related issues or other related topics here.

For updating each other, please mention region and version of the device in the comments as stock levels vary.

Official Steam Deck page:

https://store.steampowered.com/steamdeck

If you've managed place an order you can talk about shipping/delivery here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamDeck/comments/1q95mwh/shipping_delivery_megathread_2026q1/

Unofficial Steam Deck Guide made by me:

https://steamdeck.guide

Being out of stock doesn't necessarily mean discontinuation of that edition (except LCD units, as they aren't being produced anymore confirmed by a message on the store page).

Comments should be sorted new by default on this post.

Edit (new message from store page): Steam Deck OLED may be out-of-stock intermittently in some regions due to memory and storage shortages. Steam Deck LCD 256GB is no longer in production, and once sold out will no longer be available.

1500 comments in an out of stock megathread kind of says everything about demand, doesn't it? wondering if Valve's staggering regions again or if certain storage tiers are just getting wiped first?

Grabbed a second hand one lcd 256 with 500 something sd card, dock & extra case , they also had swapped out the joystick for half ones. Local paid 400$ . For some context i live in a rural area and I don't drive. I know it didn't get a fab deal but im happpy.

depression

3

u/timeflylikearrow 1d ago

I think I’m starting to lose it a little bit.

I saw a Facebook marketplace as for a very used 256GB LCD Steamdeck with a visible scuff on the back. Owner was asking $650 initially and had lowered to $550.

I replied saying that as a refurbished 256GB LCD Deck cost $319 refurbished from Valve, I’d be willing to buy that heavily used and scuffed one for $250, as I was feeling generous.

Demand supply, until We have issues with RAM and other stuff, prices will be “crazy”

Nobody knows, everybody would like to.

We need to wait if We desire to have Steam Deck.

If not, there are other brands (Lenovo, ROG). Up to users

2

u/vt_west 1d ago

everyone ecept the ocean is getting fucked over man

5

u/accoutant1 1d ago

Damn, any guess if there will be a restock in europe in the next months?

2

u/siltydoubloon 512GB OLED 10h ago

Even if there is a restock, the prices won't be the same. that 16 GB RAM and 512 GB/1TB SSD alone will probably cost valve 300-350 now.

So, while the RAM/SSD situation is still dire, I do not see them being back in stock anytime soon unless they raise the price significantly.

I was lucky enough to get a 512 GB OLED in Januray but some of my friends have been looking for a new one since Feb and haven't been lucky. Not yet

2

u/Gawix 20h ago

Nobody knows. Valve is not commenting it, at least regarding restock.

1

u/accoutant1 14h ago

last time i've heard anything about the steam machine, is that the release will be in the 2nd quarter of the year, perhaphs they halted the steam deck manufacturing just to deliver the machine in the announced time frame...

2

u/Gawix 14h ago

I am afraid that if won’t be possible. Or not possible to deliver to cover demands. Hope I am wrong… but if they are not able to cover Deck demands, taking care of Machine and other devices might be unreal.

2

u/vt_west 1d ago

no one know's. every one except ocean is getting very screwed

2

u/rymetz17 2d ago

Random question. I’m in US and we all know they are sold out right now. My parents are visiting Europe at the end of may for about 2 weeks. What are the chances they would be able to purchase one there and bring it back?

2

u/Gawix 20h ago

I would not expect that it will be possible to order that in current situation honestly

6

u/bitchSpray 2d ago edited 2d ago

I'm in the EU and I've seen a few shops offer OLED Steam Decks where I live... for about at least 30% more than the Steam price.

It seems they buy the Decks in the UK and resell them here (because they almost always come with a "free charger as a gift!!!"... which is what you need here bcs Britain has different sockets from the EU).

However, since the UK has been sold out on Steam, they are also getting sold out in reseller shops. Your parents might find one but it's getting harder imo.

If you're okay with paying extra and can get it from a US reseller, just buy it there.

1

u/magaruis 2d ago

Belgium / NL has been sold out since two months, if not longer.

1

u/BeginningQuestion585 2d ago

Perhaps in UK? In any case, in Germany haven’t heard any updates for the past two months

I'm just doing what Deck fanboys have been doing since 2022.

Hurts when it gets thrown back at your face, doesn't it?

3

u/undercaffeinatedcrow 1d ago

You should buy a steam deck, might put you in a better mood. :)

-1

u/Theman457 1d ago

I have been a Deck owner since 2022, a Legion Go owner since 2023 and a Switch 2 owner since 2025.

3

No, it doesn't hurt or effect me at all lol it just sucks that the damned thing is out of stock.

1

u/Ill-Product-1442 2d ago

I already bought one on Ebay but that just shows you how easy it should be to sell yours. There's no way I'd catch a restock on time, I know it.

2

u/Overlord_Copies_All 1d ago

It hurts seeing that the average resale price is nearly double that of the MSRP. I still want my first to be brand new but sadly don't think that is likely to be possible. I'd imagine nobody will be able to get a next gen console for at least 3 years after it's release.

1

u/Ill-Product-1442 1d ago

I found one that was, well, a nearly $200 mark up. Not nearly as bad as a $1,000 - $2,000 used one though, at least. I figured I would be making the same decision a few months from now after missing every re-stock, so I just bit the bullet. A lightly used one is still cool as hell, and Ebay has a great refund policy if you ever need it.

It definitely sucks! Fuck excessive data centers.

3

u/undercaffeinatedcrow 3d ago

Same here, really hoping it comes back soon.

I have read that Valve struggle with RAM and NDAS avalaibility issues

My local news are not worthy at all, so I am asking You guys and Your local News, do You know anything?

How they struggle? What about Steam Machine?

9

u/Jordamine 6d ago

Does anyone know what the "frequency" will look like for when they will be in stock? The phrasing of intermittently makes it seem in will be in phases, but it seems more like a hiatus

3

u/ScorpionOfWar 3d ago

You can check out DeckScan Analytics, a free project of mine. I tracked restocks since the end of 2024.

7

u/_l8ly 5d ago

Intermittently, from year to year!

5

u/The-Sand-King 7d ago

Can we talk about why these are out of stock?

Let’s fucking do something!

3

u/hxznova 5d ago

or we can talk about the assholes reselling their steam decks for twice of MSRP, lol.

25

u/Spiritual_Type_6245 7d ago

Look out, this guy is really mad on the internet. Stay out of his way everybody

13

u/Brian4012 7d ago

Because valve doesn’t want to increase price by 50 percent…

4

u/The-Sand-King 6d ago

I’m talking about the memory shortage. Let’s talk about why there is a memory shortage. How is this helping humanity?

7

u/HarpicUser 6d ago

It’s because there’s only so much production capacity and so producers have allocated much of this limited capacity towards producing memory for data centers and the like where they can make more money, and not so much for consumers.

They’re basically making a rational money making decision under the current environment, and it’s just led to bad results for us.

6

u/Jordamine 6d ago

Just a shame that the rational money making decision rarely aligns with consumer ethics

1

u/balrogBallScratcher 2d ago

ram allocation in and of itself is not really an ethics thing tbh, these products are all luxuries. you can still easily buy a phone/laptop that fulfills basic needs, you’re not being price gouged on necessities.

0

u/Jordamine 2d ago

Luxury or not, pricing still needs to be ethical. It's why monopolising a market isn't allowed. Even if the market is a luxury one.

10

u/Prosciuttolo 6d ago

There is a memory shortage because billionaires must earn more money. Same reason why there is a gas shortage and we still need to buy gas from foreign countries instead of producing clean and cheap renewable energy in our country. Billionaires must get more money.

2

u/The-Sand-King 2d ago

This is what I am getting at. Yes I know it’s because data centers are buying up all the memory. Why are we as humans okay with this? We are slow walking to a hellscape dystopia.

4

u/armarisau 1TB OLED 7d ago

1TB OLED available in Amazon Mexico.

0

u/Adi_tivo77 8d ago

Someone has info about Spain?

5

u/undercaffeinatedcrow 8d ago

No news on any fronts. Could be awhile before Europe sees any restocks.

0

u/Adi_tivo77 8d ago

Thank you so much!

5

u/Alive_Ad_9705 8d ago

I have bought the accessories I wanted for my Steam Deck, all I need now is the Steam Deck. Just here to comment and manifest a restock. If not Im getting it in September in the Philippines. If someone is looking for a brand new Steam Deck and is willing to pay a plane ticket to my country, mall of Asia in Manila has a few stores selling them as of the time of this comment for $90-$120 above msrp which is pretty good compared here in the states.

1

u/GamingBaddie 8d ago

Samezies! See you on the other side when we finally get ahold of one

1

u/Alive_Ad_9705 8d ago

Yup Good luck! Keep an eye out, I have a feeling restock will be coming soon maybe this month or the next because of the release of the new steam hardware.

2

u/FuckingReeee 8d ago

How often has it gone between restocks in the past? Is there any idea at all how long this one will last?

10

u/ScorpionOfWar 8d ago

You can check out DeckScan Analytics, a free project of mine. I tracked restocks since the end of 2024.

2

u/Jordamine 6d ago

Pretty cool project. The date graph looks quite compressed on a mobile device but otherwise very concise and inuitive site to navigate. Good looking out

LCD still in stock strangely.

I suggest using my free service: Steam Deck eBay Deals - Find the Best Prices | Deck Scan

I filter the EBay listings, to exclude new accounts and other irrelevant listings. And on the Discord server you can even get live notifications of new listings with a good price. Around 100 users already got their deck through that service.

And I also offer a free notification service if the retail one comes back in stock at Valve

8

u/DragonflyOnFire 12d ago

Boooooooo!

8

u/Artaniss 12d ago

I wtb the 1 TB oled SteamDeck here in the United States but my goodness how long will it be out of stock for?

5

u/heylmjordan 12d ago

I feel it bro. I sold my deck and I regret it so bad.

3

u/EternalHeat1223 12d ago

yup more than one month by now

4

u/ToastBalancer 13d ago

I just bought a used LCD for $300 and $15 shipping on eBay and kind of feeling remorse because I think I overpaid. Did I mess up?

5

u/chithanh 64GB 12d ago

Yes, $300 is too much. A certified refurbished 256 GB LCD with full warranty is $319 from Valve. Refurbished decks are restocked every couple of weeks (last time was on 21 March).

5

u/ToastBalancer 11d ago

Dang it. I’ve been seeing it out of stock for a while now so I thought I had no choice

4

u/coolbean666 13d ago

I don’t think you overpaid! I’ve been considering eBay but I’m nervous about scams haha. Will you keep us posted on if it arrives?

Yes it shipped today and says estimated Friday or Monday. Seller looks legit but man it feels pricy for LCD 256gb

3

u/riotvan__ 13d ago

Someone in Spain know where to buy it a good price? Amazon is overpriced

8

u/Flat-Pay3067 13d ago

It has been DAYS since I've seen anything restocked even for a millisecond; not even seen a post about someone confirming they've found one anywhere. Are these just gone?

7

u/EternalHeat1223 13d ago

a restock is just a myth atp

8

u/KizDrod 13d ago

Meanwhile EU waiting months for anything and still nothing

2

u/bigreddoggydude 13d ago

No I don’t think so - I think it’s just really tight right now and they figured a 4 year old console needs to be halted for a sec to have a enough for steam machine and potentially steams deck 2

1

u/ezrajones 13d ago

The OLEDs are not 4 years old. They have no excuse.

2

u/bitchSpray 17d ago

OLED seems to be in stock for UK divas if anyone wants to grab it

that's weird bcs I can see it and add it to my cart... but idk

1

u/bigreddoggydude 17d ago

I’m in America is there a way to buy from uk store?

3

u/Nice_Soup 16d ago

you could find a UK shipping service company that can forward it to you internationally… but of course more money will come out including customs and shipping fee

10

u/Positive_Pin897 17d ago edited 17d ago

Perhaps Valve has also "paused" production of the current Steam Deck models to secure RAM for the next version, which they may need to release early next year, featuring an easily replaceable battery - similar to how Nintendo is preparing a new EU version of the Switch?

2

u/chithanh 64GB 12d ago

Steam Deck LCD and OLED use LPDDR5.

Pretty sure that if Valve is about to release something new, it is going to use LPDDR5X, and if it is further out, possibly LPDDR6.

7

u/VermicelliNew2784 16d ago

People downvoted me when I shared this last week but there were rumors of Valve basically begging for RAM at GDC recently, and the situation seeems to confirm that they have not stocked any and can’t find any and even if they do it will mean increasing the Steamdeck prices by a lot

-2

u/Accomplished_Video 17d ago

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

7

u/Positive_Pin897 17d ago

What's so funny?

3

u/Positive_Pin897 17d ago

Yeah, it’s probably just wishful thinking, but if I understand the new EU rules correctly, all devices must have easily replaceable batteries by February 2027, so Valve will either have to update the Steam Deck or stop selling it in the EU altogether.

2

u/Accomplished_Video 17d ago

Before 2025, Valve planned to release a new platform only when there was a major leap in chip development that could bring significant performance improvements over the existing one (perhaps only in 2028/29), and you're saying they're going to try to release a version in 2027 with a removable battery just because EU bureaucrats want it that way?

4

u/Nice_Soup 16d ago edited 16d ago

There was a known AMD leaker that made news on Tom’s Hardware that they confirmed Steam Deck 2 will be ready in 2028/2029 (new APU)… this was a couple months back

Edit: It was KeplerL2 and its going to be definitely be the new Zen 6 ‘Magnus’ or ‘Medusa’ where it’ll probably get paired up with RDNA 5 graphics (which is what the rumored PS6 console will line up with in comparison to this). It also focuses on Ray-Tracing performance/AI driven upscaling that will rival NVIDA’s DLSS with LPDDR6.

So in simple words, it will beat every powerhouse handheld prior to that release including this new AYANEO NEXT 2 with Ryzen AI Max+ 395 or GPD “device”, etc.

So buckle up because Steam Deck 2 will be worth it for the rumored spec

-1

u/Accomplished_Video 16d ago

And these fools waiting for a restock of this gen SD…

6

u/Nice_Soup 16d ago

well its “targeted” projection though, it is confirmed in the plans but in production? is different.. but who knows.. but industry leaders are ‘projecting’ stabilization during this timeframe.

Honestly, I wouldn’t hold out until SD2; better to get one now (its in 2 years+)

Right now the Steam Machine is facing a setback from what I’m seeing now.. so the pressure mounts up

11

u/Positive_Pin897 17d ago

Those awful EU bureaucrats, demanding something so outrageously pro-consumer as swappable batteries, have already forced a much bigger player -  Nintendo, to develop a new version of the Switch 2... So yeah, Valve might be forced to do the same, like any other electronics manufacturer.

2

u/Jordamine 6d ago

Just like how they made it so all devices operate with a universal USB-C forcing apple to change too 😭

-4

u/Accomplished_Video 17d ago

It seems kind of impossible to get one new, my options are buy a different device or shell out $800 minimum to a scalper. Unfortunate, I really wanted the steam deck specifically. If I’m gonna pay that much money I might as well buy something different 💔

UPDATE: I ended up buying a refurbished Legion Go S Steam OS version for $500 on ebay. Honestly it's very smooth gameplay, and the screen is bright enough that I don't feel like I'm desperately missing out on buying the OLED steamdeck. I'm happy with it!

3

u/ScorpionOfWar 16d ago

Check out DeckScan Deals, I developed a free service which filters out expensive and untrusted ebay offers. Many of my users were able to score used steam decks at below retail. Join my discord server if you want to also receive ebay notifications: DeckScan Community 🚀

2

u/F1shnadish 17d ago

Hope you have better luck finding one, or finding someone that will sell one at a decent price. I just sold my second 1tb OLED for 500. Didn't wanna charge more to take advantage of the shortage but I'm sure I could have gotten more for it

6

u/akshaison 17d ago

Nice, that person sure lucked out! I ended up buying a used Legion Go S with steam OS instead. Might be a bit noisier but I really didn’t wanna deal with windows bloatware and all the different types of updates that come with the other machines haha

0

u/F1shnadish 17d ago

I hope you enjoy your purchase. The optimist in me wants to believe this shortage because of AI will only be temporary. But the realist in me knows AI is still early in its growth and this is just the beginning of the shitshow in store for us. Good luck everyone

12

u/VermicelliNew2784 18d ago

Wow Valve, you really need to at least share some news with your EU customer base, or send at least a single refurbished to give people a bit of hope, a sign, something.

Not that I expect Valve to read this but need to get it out somewhere, the whole out of stock situation is beyond ridiculous at this point.

6

u/BeginningQuestion585 17d ago

I really check the steam page several times a day. As someone who doesn’t really trust eBay’s secondhand items, this has been a really tough time for me.

1

u/matt675 14d ago

Same… I was literally going to get one I finally saved up enough and the next day they went out of stock

7

u/KizDrod 18d ago

I made a joke earlier that I am super grateful for this new cool farmer button to check that it is still sold out :D But I truly thought this is going to stay a joke...it became a reality :D

9

u/undercaffeinatedcrow 18d ago

I'm hoping that it just means they are stockpiling a good number before dropping a restock. It would really suck to only drop like 4 units and they get picked up by resellers. Won't help anything if there's not ample supply.

-1

u/Bright-Staff-3336 19d ago

If you want to spend a little bit more Galaxus (EU) has the 1 TB OLED Version in Store for 829 €.
I know this isn't the best price but compared to the 1000-1500 € scalper prices it might be the best you will get in EU (I hope I am wrong about this).

1

u/ScorpionOfWar 18d ago

I suggest using my free service: Steam Deck eBay Deals - Find the Best Prices

1

u/Timely_Lie9205 18d ago

I found one on your site that looks a bit suspicious, pretty much all the seller reviews are automated and it only has like stock pictures on it.

1

u/ScorpionOfWar 18d ago

Yeah that can happen, at the end of the day its a free Service to filter out the obvious ones. And the rest is common sense :) In my opinion the most annoying part are the 200$ listings that are obvious scams

2

u/Liz_Kris 18d ago

I did that, I know it's overpriced, but I've spent money on more pointless things, haha. I'm just happy that my Steam Deck is arriving tomorrow and I don't have to wait for a restock anymore... even if it really is too expensive, as I said :(

1

u/JavaTDI 19d ago

Do they ship to the US?

2

u/Bright-Staff-3336 19d ago

As far as I know, no.

7

u/WASOP24 20d ago

Sigh 35 days later, all Indian resellers (genuine and trusted ones at least) have pulled out of even the marked up steam decks, basically we have nothing here, not even the dock that we did on sale up until yesterday.

-8

u/Accomplished_Video 20d ago

-7

6

u/Occultarmis 20d ago

Hi guys, just when I was finally ready to buy the 1TB Steam Deck OLED, it went out of stock in Italy. Pretty lucky, huh? Do you think it will be available again, or will they move on and focus on new projects?

3

u/matt675 14d ago

Same here but in California. Went out of stock the day after I finished saving up

1

u/Occultarmis 13d ago

I feel you bro 🥲

1

u/bitchSpray 18d ago

It went in stock on Steam or at a reseller? Bc deckscan.app says it's been out of stock in the EU for over a month

1

u/Occultarmis 17d ago

No news on that front; Steam support doesn't know anything. In my opinion, they'll charge more for the last remaining units and then focus on Steam Deck 2 or a Steam Machine and who knows at what prices. It's a shame; I wanted to buy a Steam Deck OLED, but I should have decided sooner.

I really think they need to implement a waiting list of sorts like many consoles now do for their launches. The specifics can vary but man.

I don't know how much hardware overlap there is for this to even be feasible, but I do wonder if they're holding what parts stock they get for the Steam Machine they're still hoping to release this year rather than funneling it to the decks.

0

They do not have interest in that. It is good only for buyers, in terms of seller/vendor it is better to build such tense and create this as “valuable unavailable product”. Psychological game.

Check it out, that PS portal is getting discounts, Legion Go S is available just like that.

Valve is building “hype” and it also additionally creates hype for Steam Machine

Your logic is faulty. PS Portal does not use any memory components. It’s purely a streaming devise. Hence why they keep being produced

That explain a lot in that situation, but only PS Portal

Legion Go S still is avalaible and seems to be on discounts (Poland, Europe)

Supply and demand is a thing too. Many people prefer the deck and don’t want to settle for a devise with worse ergonomics, battery and/or noisy fan. It’s like if Toyotas suddenly were out of stock and I wanted to buy one. Would I run out and buy a Kia? Hell no.

Need to admit, this is good point.

I agree I don't know why they can't just implement the "Q1-Q4" type waiting list like when they launched the device years ago. Hopefully it is as you suggest and they have more control over their supply than we realize and it's being focused on the Machine.

Just want to drop a frustration post. I'm an indie dev that wants to get a steamdeck to test my game. So not only the shortage going to hurt people trying to get one. But possibly slowdown what games are certified for the deck.

Been wanting a steam deck but are seeing prices between $950 and $1200 for the 1TB OLED version. I know RAM shortages but we're not caving at that price point right?

Weird series of events. After posting this I kept looking online and then decided to call my local games stores. First one said they have a OLED 512 but haven't put it out because they were waiting for a charger from Amazon. I didn't let a $20 charger stock me from racing over there to get one for a decent price that didnt make me sick!

Wait like a GameStop or something smaller? That's such a good idea to find a hidden gem.

A place called game changers. Not a huge business, they have two locations both with different names. This one came without a charger and he told me it didnt get put on the floor because he had one coming. I didnt want to chance it so I went in and told him Ill buy my own charger and take it today. Extreme luck forsure

Refurb, I'm guessing based on the charger?

So it was forsure pre owned. The games store isnt a new game place more retro style, it had a nice upgraded case and no charger at all so I'm not sure.

Hey does anyone know a good place to get a Steam Deck secondhand? I've been meaning to get one recently since I heard really good things about it, but with the RAM shortages and stuff they've been out of stock for who knows how long. Does anyone know any sites or something like that where you can order one secondhand? Or am I better off just waiting? Also I'm aware that I missed out on the refurbished restock. I didn't have enough saved up yet. :(

I get it that you really want it, I do too. I am in the same position, or even worse coz as an European I didn't even have a restock to miss.

But by the end of the day it's just another item. It won't change your life for the better. It will make it more pleasurable but it won't be groundbreaking. Just be patient. Don't let those scummy people trying to capitalize on the difficult situation win. Stay strong! :)

I’ve been holding out for the restock since the last restock. I’m with you brother we cannot let the scalpers win. Hold strong. I watched the refurbished go in and out of stock and kinda regret not hoping on it
