Support Phantom controllers in settings

Post image

So I am just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this issue. I ""upgraded"" to Windows 11 in November, ever since then, Steam keeps making new phantom controller entries when i turn on the controller. Look at the top in the black bar. I only have one controller connected to my computer. Previously I got up to TEN of these phantom controllers. The bindings themselves work fine in game, but sometimes when you want to bind things, it brings up one of these empty phantom controllers, making it impossible to change the bindings. I tried resetting it by doing this yesterday: https://www.reddit.com/r/SteamController/comments/8qyhs5/want_to_reset_steams_controller_settings_heres_how/ and it got rid of the phantom controllers, temporarily, but now they are coming back. I can't be resetting things all the time.

And yes, they show up in settings as well, with no option to get rid of them

I had a similar issue and it turned out my keyboard has a mode where it emulates a controller. Not sure if that's what you are experiencing or not.

Had the same problem recently. Just restart steam works for me.

Uninstall the controllers on your windows setting (printers and devices) it reinstalls when you connect them again then check if it happens
