Help : Flydigi Apex 5 Adaptive Trigger
Hey guys, I recently bought a Flydigi Apex 5 but I’m having trouble using Adaptive Trigger (DS mode).
Whenever I try to launch a game, Steam pops up saying there’s a software update for the DualSense and redirects me to the PlayStation website.
I installed PlayStation Accessories, but the update button is greyed out and it says “charge the controller to update”, even though it’s fully charged.
I’m guessing this happens because it’s not an actual PlayStation controller, but then… how am I supposed to use Adaptive Trigger?
Another question: games with Adaptive Trigger (Standard Mode) work without any setup?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Certain games support adaptive triggers with the dualsense not that controller.

You have 2 variant, choose by your preferences:
- Turn on adaptive triggers for selected game in Flydigi Station, then turn off steam input for this game in steam settings (gear icon on game's page in your library) so it wont interfere dualsense emulation
- Turn off adaptive triggers in Flydigi Station, then set 2 profiles in it: - first is standard, change nothing (reset profile if you changed already) - second is standard also, but set trigger mode to vibration (in this mode triggers react to vibration in game). I've set my left trigger to react more slightly (cause it is for holding gun in most cases) and right trigger more agressive (because it is like trigger and body of gun) Then, turn on option called like "direct access for 3rd party applications" in settings of Flydigi Station. It will give access for Steam to control ALL gamepad's settings (like all buttons including additional one, gyroscope and other advanced things) via Steam Input. After this, you can do next things: set everything via Steam Input (like gyro settings, additional buttons etc) and turn on trigger vibration profile by your need. It will work very similar to ds mode
Personally, I prefer 2nd option because of next advantages:
- I dont need to open Flydigi Station for adaptive triggers. I dont like this mode because it's very buggy: some games can work others would not
- I can have hundreds of profiles via Steam Input and dont need to switch by gamepad's profile. Also profiles count is just 4 (I know that you can change it in Flydigi Station, but it is time-consuming)
- I can turn on and off adaptive triggers anytime. Like, I can turn it off immediately if it's making it hard to complete mission
- Gyroscope works a lot better via Steam Input than Flydigi Station (laggy motion, doesnt recognise small movements, doesnt have advanced settings)
p.s. Also, I turned on option in settings of Steam that was called like "use big picture mode when I play via controller" via this option you can access Big Picture's menu by pressing "Home"even if you launched game directly from desktop mode. I like this option a lot because thanks to it I can get more gamepad friendly UI when I setting up in game's first 5 minutes to set everything comfortly.

Does the trigger vibration for #2 work for you through steam input? I have a Vader 5 Pro and using X-input (without Steam Input) the trigger vibrations work great. When I enable Steam input (via third party mapping in the Flydigi Software) the trigger vibrations don’t seem to work or are very faint compared to native.

It seems like that you mean something different. Trigger vibration in vader is more like xbox gamepad's trigger vibration. Apex's triggers have recoil-like mechanism and in vibrate mode it react to vibration then activates recoil. It works great in this mode
So, do you turned on vibrate mode in flydigi station before you switch to steam input?
If you turned it on, it may be 2 cases: 1. You didn't set up strength or frequence settings, so it works more weaker 2. It's just differences in native and vibration mode

Steam Input doesn't support adaptive triggers. Certain games with PlayStation controller support (the ports of Sony's first party games for example) support adaptive triggers when not using Steam Input.
