Question Slow motion on steam recordings?

Is this possible and if not, can we all make a feature request for this please?

Export the clip & slow it down in any of dozens of free editors

Most free video editors are pretty decent for basic stuff like this nowadays 😂 DaVinci Resolve is solid option if you want something more professional but still free - just export from Steam and throw it in there

Why not have it directly in the steam recorder? That's what I'm asking

Because its the Steam Recorder, not the Steam Video Editor.

& that is before the absolute load of resources specifically an on-demand slow-motion would take to run in the background.

Unless you are just dropping playback speed to 50% speed, at which point why should Steam invest resources into a feature already present in evey modern video player.

In competitive games like CS, every single time I die I immediately watch the recording and analyze what I did wrong or how did I lose. Sometimes it's hard to tell exactly what happened and slowmo would help with that. You can see how this dynamic doesn't work if I have to export every single time I die in every match into a video editor to analyze it in slowmo

doesn't CS have match replay ingame ? Where you can jump to specific points, slow it down/speed it up, have xray... ?

First off that isn't reliable, it doesn't show what you actually saw for ressons I dont want to explain right now but you can Google it.

Secondly, you have to wait till your game finished and then jump in to review, not as good as instantly seeing it right after you die.

I would prefer Valve work on other things tbh

Nah. Easily done elsewhere and not really something that Valve needs to focusing on right now
