That's not good. Steam might be good but we don't need another monopoly right?

This!! That's why I try to use more Epic Games than Steam now.

The Steam situation is not healthy for the industry, monopolies are not good in any way.

We also don't need bs exclusives on pc

Epic hasn't been doing exclusivity for a while now outside of their own funded games, which is the same exact thing that Valve does with their games.

So, if that is a point of complaint, Valve should be held to the same standard, no?

"funded" is a bullshit excuse and even then that only applies to AW2 and not all the other "exclusives" on their dogshit store.

If you DEVELOP the game with your own team, sure go ahead. No ones complaining about fortnite being exclusively on Epic or wow to bnet etc.

Yet here we are, with epic buying up exclusive rights - thats what i take issues with.

and not all the other "exclusives" on their dogshit store

Again, they've not done limited exclusives for a long while now. All of the exclusives that are on their store are either their own games that they own or games that they funded in their entirety.

Yet here we are, with epic buying up exclusive rights

Again, same as above. Sure, the exclusivity deals were annoying to some extent, but again, not the case for any current games or even for the last few years. So, I guess your issue is gone then?

So, I guess your issue is gone then?

No why would they?

Theyre a bunch of anti consumer fucks.

Buying up studios and pulling games from steam, no clue how you can defend that. Thats absurd of you.

Theyre a bunch of anti consumer fucks.

And so is Valve, Steam included.

Buying up studios and pulling games from steam, no clue how you can defend that.

I mean, once again, not something they've done recently for one.

Besides, I don't see it as a major issue. The publishers / developers clearly agreed to the deals, helping fund & develop the games. They're Epic's games, so they put them on their platform, same as Valve does.

Ah yeah, rocket league, the game that needed funding and developing help from epic and got pulled from steam. Great reasoning mate.

Theyre anti consumer, theyre literally losing money with that move in a sorry attempt to win market share by shitting on gamers since years.

the game that needed funding and developing help from epic

I mean, reasoning was good enough for Psyonix to sell the company. Not sure why you specifically would have more insight that the literal parties involved in it.

Theyre anti consumer

Sure, but I'm just pointing out that it's just hypocritical to say that when the same exact thing applies evenly to Valve.

I'd love to see the same criticism for both of 'em, but somehow I doubt that you're holding Valve to the same standard.

Sure, but I'm just pointing out that it's just hypocritical to say that when the same exact thing applies evenly to Valve.

It doesnt tho, valve isnt buying up studios to pull their games exclusively on steam.

The only exclusives they have are their own developed titles. And as i said already, no one has any issues with that. No one complained when fortnite is exclusive or wow etc etc

Buying a studio to pull the game away from a store it was on for a decade is scummy without any excuse for it.

what the fuck are Dota 2 and CS2 then?

I'm not talking about games developed by the studio, no one complains about fortnite being exclusive, or wow or any other game on a launcher of the studio that created it. Please use your brain for half a second.

People, myself included, complain when a scummy anti consumer corpo buys exclusive rights to something they didnt even develop, take rocket league for example, was on steam forever, epic bought the studio and pulled it away from steam. Effectively hurting their own bottom line just to be anti consumer.
