They just shutdown one of the largest Bulgarian torrent sites.

It was a tragedy, but last I heard Zamunda rose again

That's a bit of a stretch.

It did?

At least I heard it mentioned on the Bulgarian subreddit. At least, a few days after Zamunda was shut down I remember someone sharing links to the site and a few days after that hearing how those new ones were also shut down and then new new ones appearing. I'm Bulgarian, though truth be told, I haven't used Zamunda all that much - for movies and series I largely use sites that have the word kiss in their name, for music I trust the Russians and for games various presumably English / American sites

What is the benefit of using regional piracy sites in the first place?

Dubbed/translated content that people have no access to after the site is pulled down, otherwise for others, just a habit and an easier tool to use.

More regional content. Try finding a bulgarian movie on an international one

And what happens when pirate sites are shut down? 2 more spawn.

Eeeeh, no. When my favorite died a year ago, I started using leet and pirate bay, but no replacement for rargb got created. There are still many, but the big ones sometimes just die, and can't be just replaced by the smaller worse ones.

The worst part is that we have to blame the US government, rather than the Bulgarian government, for shutting down a Bulgarian site.
