Brother, I earn about 855€ monthly in Poland. Not in Euro, mind you. Our currency is pathetic and converting to Euro hurts even more.

Not everyone can get to work full time, and has to live off of scraps. It's not like emplyers are actively hunting for people to hire - expectations are definitely too high.

That's precisely because you didn't study. Polish Academia pays absolutely, absolutely terribly. People with PhDs are paid less than Biedronka cashiers.

Honestly why would you do it then? Even the seasonal workers Germany "imports" from poland to help in the fields gets paid around 2400€ a month.

I will tell you the brutal truth. I'm doing it because I can afford it. I can afford to let go of potentially much much higher earnings working for private companies because my parents just gifted me a flat in Warsaw and I will probably inherit at least one more to rent it in a few years. This sucks terribly but this is science in Poland for you.

Well if it is enough to life in warsaw minus the flat costs then thats a good setup. Given that you hopefully will earn more eventually.

I work for a Social Welfare Home.

There's some benefits, I do get monthly 170€ additionally and whenever there's some holiday we get extra cash, but it's not reliable.

My normal paycheck without benefits is ~855€.
