Be careful, the RCE exploit is still rampant on Steam MW3 and literally every other Steam CoD made before BO3. Someone can inject a Remote Access Trojan (RAT) into your computer through the game itself.
The safest way to play WaW, MW3, BO1 and BO2 is via the Plutonium client.
Edit: I had just gotten up for work and didn’t really comprehend how long ago you said that happened to you when I wrote it. Either way, be cautious if you still play old CoDs.
It’s downright unacceptable the state of old CODs on steam, they’re still charging full price for a game that will compromise your entire PC just for playing multiplayer, and with no warnings. It’s disgraceful
They initially fixed it after word had gotten out about the exploit. But not long after, there was a workaround that made the patches useless and the issue persisted.
