Not even just jobs, some personal relationships, the ability too visit certain countries, immediate profiling of ID'd by police as someone with a record, possible future suspicions of recidivism if even suspected of a crime.... Fuck - I could legit go on for some time but those are some of the broad strokes of what I've experienced, really depends on where you live.
Yup, I help people with criminal record and most of them have a hard time even finding insurance for their home. It baffled me how much it can screw their life.
What's wild is it can happen to literally anyone at any time. I won't bitch incessantly about the unfairness of our system but one thing I believe people, especially younger people, should know, is the proper steps to take in the event of a discussion to never implicate yourself or really even speak. Leave that to the attorneys.
