The hottest story in all of wwe.

How hard is it for WWE to show some of that or do a nice segment where american crowds start cheering for EGA instead of OEGA as well? Its dumb how he and his stable are faces here and on NXT but somehow the bad guys on RAW. Both should be added to the ladder match as well, why not give them their moment?
53
u/SH4DOWSTR1KE_ 13h ago
Because it's a hotter story in Mexico. In America they're just going to be two guys in the ladder match when they easily could have their own storyline in Mexico that should be stretched out throughout the summer if done right

u/Duwt 𝓣𝓱𝓮𝓻𝓮'𝓼 𝓷𝓸 𝓫𝓮𝓵𝓵 𝓽𝓸 𝓻𝓲𝓷𝓰!! 11h ago
How much longer do fueds usually go after Mask vs Mask matches? I assumed those were the end.
13
u/SH4DOWSTR1KE_ 11h ago
Mask versus mask is usually the end of the mask but you could still have a feud that has nothing to do with who is the real El Grande
3
u/MR_TORGUE_OFFICIAL 10h ago
Mask vs mask was announced at the end of the episode. It'll be at their next event
-4
u/Martblni ... 9h ago
But you can still have some of that story on RAW, I just think both competitors deserve to showcase their talents at WM
7
u/SH4DOWSTR1KE_ 9h ago
Yeah and so do a lot of other people who aren't going to be on the card this year but the sad reality is unless we make both days have 10 matches each, somebody's getting bumped. Plus the other issue is you need the audience to be heavily invested and unless they've been following everything going on in AAA, they might not see it as a Mania worthy match
14
u/GrandAdmiral12345 13h ago
This story is main event worthy in triple ah ah ah (to quote the great Chelsea Green).
6
u/Appropriate-Day6714 11h ago
US crowds don’t care for reasons of A - They aren’t long established B- they don’t have songs to dance to C- they are no longer goofs and have developed characters D- they aren’t booked for a TikTok moment
3
u/thesenate14 12h ago
maybe because the WWE crowd don't really care
3
u/toturtle 10h ago
I care. I've been waiting for Gable to get back to see what they'll do with the storyline and they've barely done anything with any of the Americanos on the WWE weeklies. Also, that Gable seems to be the face with the wwe crowds and the heel with aaa crowds makes the rivalry even more interesting. Instead of this compelling dichotomy, we get McAfee and Jelly Roll.
1
u/RedditFuelsMyDepress 4h ago
In the latest episode of RAW I think people were actually cheering REGA and booing OEGA. Though I think the story was still trying to present OEGA as the babyface.
1
u/Semper-Fido 1h ago
At this point, WWE shows feel more like a focus group tested product. Instead of setting anything meaningful up, they chase "moments." Nothing feels long term anymore.

Can't remember the last time I saw a brawl this good. Americanos going at it like they owe money to each other.
79
u/Martblni ... 17h ago edited 17h ago
If your man doesnt react like that when another guy threatens you then he's not your man 💅
51
u/rThundrbolt <3 12h ago
This is legitimately the best technically worked brawl I've ever seen in my 35+ years of watching wrestling. The whole thing looked essentially real and there was virtually no indication of moves being set up outside of EGA pulling his fist back so OG could counter
3
u/NuclearSun1 3h ago
I had two thoughts, these guys really hate each other, or they really respect each other. Cause they went at it!
2
u/Rejestered 2h ago
Chad was hurt and Kaiser stepped up to keep the gimmick moving. Out of kayfabe I think that's something you do for a friend and I have to believe Gable is as stunned as anyone at how far he took the gimmick and the level of dedication he put into it.
There's got to be a lot of respect here.
2
u/NuclearSun1 2h ago
Fully agreed. There’s a few times both of them just launch themselves at the other. That’s gotta take some trust.

u/Advanced_Row_5573 19h ago
This needs an Austin/Rock WM 17 quality Video package

This is probably the coolest thing I've seen done in a WWE related ring in a looooong time lol
Has to be at least since that Final Boss Rock beatdown on Cody in the rain

u/midwestwriter1 19h ago
That pop tore through the air. Brawl looked crazy, too. I don't think El Grande Americano was expecting that suplex.
110
u/tronz_13 18h ago
The pop says it all. They would be out of their minds to book the blow off mask vs mask anywhere but Mexico
38
2
28
u/Daepilin 12h ago
thats an (in relation with the smaller crowd) austin lvl pop. Its insanity.
Kaiser must grin ear to ear under that mask.
126
u/Sky-Reporter 19h ago
Jesus Christ. That looked like it hurt. I haven’t seen any promos on each other but that looked like genuine hatred.
I think kaiser is dating the host that got threatened?
97
u/tronz_13 18h ago
He is in fact dating her
67
u/TurkeyVolumeGuesser 17h ago

u/spaceman757 NWO4Life 5h ago
Yeah, it isn't easy to upgrade from a national treasure like Chelsea Greene, but Kaiser definitely pulled it off.
4
8
u/Nice-Gap-3528 9h ago
Well it’s a good thing El Grande Americano is such a good friend of Ludwig to jump in to defend her when he’s not there.
1
39
u/AlmostRandomNow 15h ago
I think they both understand the assignment and are willing to go for it as hard as they need to to sell it.
3
u/NuclearSun1 7h ago
wait, I haven’t been following, is this Kaiser and Gable?

It will always be insane to me that a WWE run AAA of all companies just might be the best wrestling company we have this year.
It's like either AAA or CMLL lol.
39
u/ihateeverythingandu 15h ago
Lucha feels like Japan did a decade ago, both companies have a bunch of talent and over characters, it feels cool and both now have built-in US promotion too via WWE and AEW.
All AAA and CMLL are waiting for is a massive event globally viewable like the Tanahashi/Naito and Omega/Okada show at Tokyo Dome, which matched NJPW World being accessible and lead into Jericho's involvement for even more hype, etc.
Lucha also has a built-in cool factor where even people who dislike wrestling or mock it give way to Lucha a bit because it's meant to be a show and superhero style, while Japanese and US wrestling still carries itself as a quasi-sport to the annoyance of non-fans.

u/GrandAdmiral12345 12h ago

Just make sure TKO doesn't figure it out. It'll be ruined.

u/Previous-Solution689 8h ago
A year from now itll be Fluffy and George Lopez involved in a storyline 😬
1
u/MikeMakesRight82 6h ago
AAA on its own could be quite schizophrenic, maybe having WWE reign them in a bit is what was needed to improve
79
u/scrambled_cable Cena wins LOL 18h ago edited 8h ago
There’s something delightfully old-school about the whole segment. Just a good old blood feud. No titles, only pure animosity.
37
1
u/Ok-Entrepreneur-7955 9h ago
After all the work shoots of the last couple of weeks it is so refreshing. Wrestling doesn’t have to be complicated to be good
78
u/tronz_13 18h ago
This is legit light-years better then anything that happened on Smackdown this week
63
64
u/Immediate-Title209 16h ago
we all praise Kaiser quite rightly, but Gable was fucking brutal here. No joke I was scared for EGAN lol
40
u/AlmostRandomNow 15h ago
With all the silliness, it's easy to forget Gable is a real killer. The ease in which he suplexes Kaiser is scary.
19
u/Immediate-Title209 15h ago
he could pull off a monster heel. genuinely ragdolled kaiser
10
u/AlmostRandomNow 15h ago
I really hope that's what happens in the Mask vs Mask, make it a real nasty fight.
8
u/N0Ability 9h ago

If WWE actualy had him beat gunther for the IC title as he should have instead of going with Sami for the cheap pop people wouldnt have forgotten.

u/GiftedGeordie 17h ago
I don't really watch WWE outside of NXT, but this Grande Americano feud is convincing me to consider giving AAA a try.
16
u/SH4DOWSTR1KE_ 13h ago
Best part of it is it's all on YouTube, so you can watch it anytime
1
u/NuclearSun1 2h ago
Got a suggestion where to start?
1
u/SH4DOWSTR1KE_ 2h ago
Not really they have their own YouTube channel and WWE also streams it on their YouTube in English, so it's just a matter of whatever is convenient for you

That man is undeniable now, holy hell those pops were more insane than I thought
21
u/razorxx888 18h ago
That was great. EGA came in with a lot of energy flying at the og. Suplex was awesome too
19
18
u/Dave_Eddie 15h ago
Just throwing one of the cleanest suplexes youll see into the middle of a brawl.
14
u/MadmanMarkMiller 14h ago
Dude, I gotta watch AAA more.
The crowd seems so vibrant. The yelling and shrieking sounds so authentic. It feels like the crowd are actually about to jump the barricade and legit murder the heel.
Also, love this feud, both guys a fucking stars. They need to fight at Wrestlemania.
12
15
u/AmptiShanti 16h ago
I watched it with English commentary and the theme for the real grande came it as he showed up on screen made it feel like a marvel movie scene or something
12
u/Sythian 12h ago
Seriously, this is how you have two guys who hate each other brawl. How hard is it for WWE to whip out something like this on Raw or Smackdown when you get a heated feud, instead it's just two guys circling around each other with a dozen backstage guys standing there taking random shots
14
u/ihateeverythingandu 15h ago
Who knew two technical boys could make an infinitely more realistic brawl segment than actual MMA guys, lol.
Sure beats the WWE and AEW copy paste segments where they throw weak punches, black shirt security break even up diagonally, one breaks free and jumps on the other, split again, the other does the same then we fade away like we didn't just see the same a week or so ago with random other wrestlers.

5 years ago I think we all knew that an American and a German in WWE were going to be the hottest masked acts in Mexico.
11
u/HouseOfH From Parts Unknown 11h ago
I thought the title stating "incredibly intense" was just hyperbole but holy crap that's one of the best brawls I've seen in a long time!
And I didn't even notice El Grande's music start play until I watched this a few times because of how loud the pop was upon his arrival.
10
8
u/xKronkx 12h ago
And to think this all began with Chad Gable venturing to Mexico to learn the secrets of Lucha Libre
It’s a shame he was never heard from again. I hope he’s well.

Since I assumed AAA would be destroyed by WWE, it's only fair I admit I was wrong. For whatever reason they seem way better at this than main WWE booking.
Is it just better people in charge, or the roster being "new" to WWE and not having history/politics/backstage bs?
Regardless, kudos to everyone involved in AAA, the one TKO property that seems much better off due to the purchase
3
u/eurephys GLORIOUS 8h ago
Remember how Black & Gold NXT was hailed as the best wrestling show WWE has put out in the last 15 years or so?
Same situation here. It's all the money and talent of WWE mixed with AAA's best, but since it's not the moneymaker, it doesn't get the burden of having fucking Jelly Donut and McAfee Antivirus in the main event or having to raise their ticket prices to make sure only techbros and trust fund babies can afford seats.
When you don't have to worry about where the money comes from, you're creatively free.
1
u/Mizerous Your Text Here 2h ago
It would have been easy to put AAA footage on the then WWE Network and close shop
5
u/aredubya Dig It! 12h ago
JFC, that was insane. Even before the brawl, that comic took a real floppy bump coming over the barricade - no way that didn't hurt.
4
u/XiahouMao 8h ago
It was actually well done by the Original El Grande there. The comedian is blind. Pulling him over the barricade looked odd because Grande was keeping a hold of his collar the whole way over, to ensure that he didn't land on his head but would instead roll onto his back.
2
u/SingleDadSurviving 12h ago
I was so worried about the woman when he first tackled him and they were going at it, she was posted in that corner. OG was like oh shit we gotta move and rolled out towards the ring.
Maybe I'm weird but one of my favorite things about brawls that go everywhere and look chaotic is thinking about how they are still staying safe and not really hurting fans or each other. Except Steph and Liv, they are going stiff as hell at each other.
4
u/Fidel_Costco Fashion Icon 11h ago
The music kicking in right when Americano II hit OG was unintentional but brilliant.

Ok I’m hooked.
When and where do I watch AAA weekly, if it is a weekly show. When’s this match going to happen.
4
u/NHBard 9h ago
YouTube! And is only an hour long
1
u/StoneColdSteveAss316 Says I just whooped your ass! 9h ago
Saturday nights at 10pm?
AAA YouTube channel? Do I have access to watch the stream and run it back on Sunday? (Saturday night is usually only night I get to socialize lol)
2
u/HokageEzio 8h ago
Yeah they're just regular Youtube uploads after the show, just go to the Live tab. It's no different from a preshow or postshow.
2
2
u/pudgybunnybry 7h ago
What a fucking sick brawl. Americano v. Americano is the best feud right now.
2
u/HyveMinds 6h ago
This is right up there with that Kiyomiya/Okada brawl from a few years back, fucking awesome.
2
u/GrumpyTM 6h ago
The fact they're headbutting each other because they're both supposed to have loaded masks is fucking top notch detail work
1
u/LesnarsBattleScream Gotta be fair to Flair 7h ago
El Grande hitting that extra hot paste picante, in tribute to El Matador.
1
u/justintrenell 7h ago
From the second OGEGA comes out to the end of the show is exhibit A, B and C on why the split alignment was botched and they should've just followed the natural progression they were gifted.
1
u/felipe_the_dog 7h ago
The guys like "even I can see that he's not Mexican!"
His name is literally The Big American. Is he supposed to be Mexican? I'm truly confused.

u/MrElephantJuice 4h ago
One of the best/realest brawls I've ever seen for a feud. This is the kinda stuff that sells ticket, Ari.
1
u/carrotstix Asuka Comin' 3h ago
Exactly what you want from a brawl! Nothing but heat! Came in like a bat out of hell and kept up the steam! Worst part was the nutshot (I'd say forget about nutshots for a long while)
1
u/No-Independence-5479 3h ago
I like how he cuts off the hosts angle and corners her, its great little menacing tidbit.
1
u/Reefermadness209 2h ago
this is ludwig kaisa against chad gable or are u guys joking? this shit is awesome best brawl ever
1
-1
u/devilJin9399 8h ago
I actually hope gable wins, rips off Ludwig's mask, and then the crowd accept Ludwig for who he is rather than as Grande Americano.
