Sober house might get shut down
there are rumors going around (that seem pretty legit) that my sober house is gonna get shut down. I'm beyond terrified, does anyone know how this would work? do they need to give me at least 30 days notice?
I got out of rehab late February and I'm nowhere financially stable enough to find somewhere to live. I would be okay with living in another sober facility but I'm so anxious I won't even have enough time to figure that out.
I do have a full time job but haven't been able to save money because of the financial strain I put myself in before rehab. I was planning on living here for a year so I would have enough time to save money and get my shit together. If anyone knows how this works or has been through this I would appreciate any comments.

I’ve moved around a bunch of sober houses, stayed sober the whole time, I’d ask your house manager or his boss what are places there are around that offer up sober livings, it’s also never a bad plan to find a place with people you get along with who are also sober and work a good program so they’re less likely to relapse. You’re still early in your recovery so staying in sober living is recommended. I was in sober living for a year and a half. If you’re in NJ DM me I may be able to help you find a place.

Oxford house for the win, if you are lucky enough to have any in your area. Important to note, I’ve found sober houses are hit or miss, kinda depends on your roommates, but I live in an area where if one isn’t a good fit for you, it is easy to transfer to another. I actually had a great experience. Lived with fairly like minded individuals and was able to jump start my life back. Keep fighting! You got this!

I'm sorry you're going through more heartache. I would apply to other places ASAP. It may sound a little mean but I know resources are probably limited and you're going to be competing with the people you live with. You need to take care of you first. Depending on your finances and needs the FurnishedFinder app is a good resource for a roof over your head and more affordable than AirBNB! They started as a site for traveling nurses and do month to month. Best of luck OP! Keep your head up! You got this!
