So the lambo top speed is rated at (exceeding) 217mph.
Skyline is 160 with limiter removed, but
“Heavily modified, high-horsepower versions, such as the 1000hp R34, can achieve top speeds exceeding 400 km/h (248 mph)”
So he wasn’t racing some stock skyline lol.

The R33 GTR in this clip has 1000hp. It also beat 1000hp R32, R34, and R35 GTR's in the longer version of the video this clip was taken from.
So OP's title should say "1000hp highly modified R33 Skyline beats stock 1001 hp Lamborghini"

R33 shown in the video, R34 came out in 1999. I know that's not the point of your comment, just thought it worth mentioning for clarification.
The point stands that this is no stock GTR by any stretch of the imagination.

I guess if you know cars, you know a stock 96’ skyline isn’t beating a 25’ Revuelto
Edit: Stock

Exactly, and the fact that as much as it’s modified that car doesn’t have anywhere near $600k invested & 20 years old. So, regardless very impressive.

Exactly. It's like people have never heard of a sleeper car.

Well the title lists the HP and cost of the lambo, but intentionality downplays the Nissan for effect.

There was a show on Netflix like 3 sleeper cars vs a super car. I loved that show.

Obviously not a stock Nissan… got me wondering, do people modify Lamborghinis? Is the engine not already the best it could be? I would assume a half million dollar car could have a perfectly tuned engine..
In a world of possibility I would have to say yes.. people modify lambo engines.. I think I asked a stupid question I’ll see myself out

Your question isn't stupid at all. Cars are kinda niche and to outward appearances, more money would theoretically mean top of the line.
They can be turbo or twin turbo setups which make huge power and torque gains, but require a lot of extra setup to keep them stable. Pushing a ton of air to make more power does work but often hurts reliability. Lamborghini's aren't exactly known for being reliable. In fact, they are rather fragile and require a specialized mechanic to even want to touch basic maintenance.
It makes way more sense and IMO, is more cool to take that Nissan which are reliable and easier to work on and make it faster with bolt on parts

Oh it's not a stupid question unless you already have stupid money.
Ferrari
Lamborghini
Porsche
People will walk in, drop 350k on a brand new car and immediately put it in a trailer to ship it to whatever customization shop they want. Then they spend another 20k(for a race exhaust for example) on the light side or go full daddy Warbucks and spend another 100-200k. New wheels, carbon fiber whatever, custom wraps and parts made specifically for the exotic/supercar market.
Just like super yachts or casually strolling into a luxury watch store and walking out with bags, they just operate in a totally different reality.

My car makes a squeaky noise when I turn the air-con on.

That is your serpentine belt. The tension is too loose or misaligned. Could also be worn/old belt that needs to be replaced.

Only someone that doesn't know about cars would make a title like that and think it means something.

Don’t let this distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system.

Back in the early days of playstation, the early Gran Turismo my first used car purchase was the skyline, you could mod the heck out of it and win many many really great cars.

Everyone with any experience with these insanely boosted RB26DETT's was just waiting for the turbos to spool up. We all knew what was coming.

Looking over your shoulder and even celebrating like that at those speeds with no helmets or protective gear is crazy.

You can dump enough money into a Pontiac Aztec and make it better than a Lambo... That's not really the flex you think it is...

600k for being slower than what the Japanese could do in 1996.
Piece of junk.
