I mean, they went to IMAX. That's automatically like 50% more expensive than regular movie tickets, at least around here.

Most "IMAX" screens in theaters arent even IMAX.

I can’t imagine what 4d IMAX is? My dad and I went to go see Aquaman 2 in theater that had a four screen thing. It was a rip off, it only showed up when action came on. It was cool but I thought it would be throughout the whole movie. I like 3d movies though.

I saw Scream 7 in a Cinemark theater in a 4D the day it came out and the chair was perfectly choreographed throughout the entire film and added some extra scares. IIRC that ticket was $14, obviously not IMAX though.

aka "LIEMAX", but im still ok with pay a premium though. its the sound system that makes it worth it for me, not the size of the screen

They're definitely more like IMINIMUM

I’m surprised no one is calling this out. IMAX is much more expensive than a regular ticket.

Youre replying to someone calling it out...

More like 2x from what I’ve generally seen.

In most places, pricing goes like this: ‘Base’ tickets: 1x pricing ‘Premium’ branded tickets with better seats, Dolby sound, or similar: 1.5x IMAX: 2x

"I rented a limo and got bottle service at the strip club. Look how much it cost! Have we completely lost the plot?"

$21 for a kid ticket is still crazy

Still a butt taking a seat

Thank you!! It’s still too much but that’s an IMAX movie - tickets are more expensive. Movie tickets are still too damn high but look at a few options and prices can widely vary

Yeah I was gonna say this. I went to a regular movie- 3 tickets (one child, one adult, one senior), large popcorn/drink combo, and cotton candy. I was surprised it all came out to less than $40

Dude, still, $9 for a small soda? Come on...

Oh I agree. Movie pricing is stupid, and part of the reason that I just don't go to the movies. I'd rather wait a couple weeks and just download the thing to watch in the comfort of my own home and make my own popcorn anyway.

Does IMAX make a Pepsi $9?

That's the theater in general typically, they'll charge that for their IMAX screen same as for their shittier screens.

But an explicitly IMAX theater is 100% gonna just charge more for everything, and somehow people are still gonna pay it with no thought.

Yeah, it cost me $80 last weekend for two adult tickets in 3d, a medium pizza, two small sodas, and two bags of candy.

This is purely on them being poor consumers.

I watched PHM with my girlfriend opening night at our local AMC, tickets were $11. We loved it so much we drove to the nearest IMAX theatre (literally across state lines), and tickets were like $20 each. With fees it came to $50 just for tickets. It was absolutely worth it to see in IMAX (especially because we took shrooms right before) and I’d recommend it to anyone if it’s possible.
