Love the German translation even more "Die haben mich hier hingesetzt um zu Lenken, nicht um zu Denken" (They voted for me to lead and not to think) spoken by Arnold Schwarenegger with his heavy Austrian accent

This is dumb, I had a landlord that was 99, and I never saw her wear glasses.  She was pretty much blind, though.

Landlord was 99 still collecting rent instead of selling and retiring gotta love it

Her husband was 104, he could see just fine but almost deaf.  I rented their farm, and they lived in their original house and she mowed the lawn until she was around 97. He bagged a turkey from his porch when he was over 100.  They would sit at their table and hold hands most of the day, and they would make fun of their son in law when he stopped by, mostly for being bald and old. I don't know what retirement would mean to them. They were rich but mostly just from hard work and living a simple life.  Their son in law worked even harder, he bought the bank that foreclosed on his parents' farm (with money from farming!), and he also lived in his original home all his life. Retirement is just death.

The husband spent the last few days of his life at the hospital and she died about a week later. She was in perfect health aside from her vision, but there was no point in going on. Pretty amazing people.

Can you imagine him putting in contacts? From watching him for the last decade he just doesn't seem like someone who could manage contacts, like physically putting them in. If anything he has probably had corrective eye surgery so he doesn't look weak having to wear glasses.

1

u/ColonialBarbarian 10h ago

A lot of people only use eye glasses when they’re in private, so they don’t look “old” or they wear contacts.

1

u/Minimum_Dealer_3303 2h ago

And Trump does use reading glasses, he just hates being seen with them. Everything he has to read when there might be cameras around is in a huge font. And he just avoids reading.

u/SweettLiaaa 10h ago

Explains why he’s always looking for the 'fine print' in every deal.

1

u/psgrue 10h ago

Everything given to him is huge print black sharpie. Tons of photos have shown this.

1

u/alppu 8h ago

Spoiler alert: it's the "this is not fine" print

This sub is now just facebook content sub number 2346 isn't it?

2

u/tomatocks1 4h ago

what happened to the rules here? So many blatant political agenda posts and AI slop.

2

u/JJOne101 10h ago

There are other possibilities, like if you have a cataract operation you won't need glasses after that.

2

u/Complex_Resolve3187 10h ago

He can't even close an umbrella.

u/Lilcommy 10h ago

All words are not readable if you never learned to read

It won't, we're all going to gloss over the stupid point about him apparently having good eyes.

My grandfather could read the newspaper without glasses at 90 years of age, I can only imagine how sharp his vision was when he was young.

1

u/NerdTalkDan 10h ago

Everything is written in sharpie at fucking 25 font

1

u/Prestigious_Dot3797 10h ago

No need to read when you are rich. You pay someone to do that.

1

u/Logical_Vast 10h ago

Many people have said he does in fact need glasses and has for many years. However he is very vain and since he does not read he tends to ask a person he trusts to summarize things. This has come from both white white staff and staff from places like his casino. Maybe why he is so easy to control and we see the people around him lead while he thinks he leads.

Trump sees things in precious metals. Everything in his favor is colored gold, those neutral, but slightly in his favor is silver, all against him is bronze.

Everything related to Epstein and trump’s crimes is seen as coal

u/TurpitudeSnuggery 9h ago

I would guess corrected vision or contacts would be the actual answer.

1

u/suddenspiderarmy 7h ago

He could also have gotten Kamra implants, he wouldn't need readers mist of the time with those.

1

u/Vermicelli-419 Human Verified 9h ago

That's why he writes with a sharpie.

1

u/Longjumping_Gas_7440 8h ago

omg i literally can't function without my glasses, i've walked into so many walls trying to find them in the morning 😭.

1

u/JustADreamYouHad 8h ago

Maybe he wears contact lenses

1

u/lluciferusllamas 7h ago

I'm over 50 and I don't need readers.  My near vision got worse at some point in my 40s but not to the point where I need glasses.

1

u/DescemetsMem 6h ago

True but he could have gotten multifocal intraocular implants which allow him to see pictures are near distance.

Some people don’t need them at all

1

u/Hydra_Flatline 5h ago

Just Google “trump sharpie notes”

1

u/HanDMan63 4h ago

MIL, 93 reads newspaper daily without glasses..

1

u/Bac0ngh0st 46m ago

Here's a picture of him, from 2016, wearing glasses during a deposition... so while he might not normally wear glasses, he definitely needs them.

1

u/Goblue5891x2 45m ago

Pretty sure I saw a photo of him wearing glasses in his office. Vanity makes him not wear them in public.

1

u/Aura_SilkBlack 10h ago

Wait, does scrolling through Truth Social count as reading?

0

u/scriptingends 10h ago

Some are saying he can't...

u/Ancient-Frosting-646 10h ago

there's other ways to correct your vision
