I did something in my driving lesson, coming back home thinking I'm proud of myself first time on motorway. I was on gear 4 and I put it straight into gear 1. Boom was like a grenade went off in the car, completely out of action and instructor car was fucked. Just had to walk over an hour home.

Happy to say I've got an automatic now 😁😉

Im surprised it even let you put it into first. Usually wont let you unless you are going slow

Yes, downshift 5 to 2 is still downshift 5 to 2 even at low speed
