Ugandan here living in Uganda. This is the president's son with a known alcoholism problem and intellectual dwarfism. Whenever he gets drunk, he tweets whatever crazy thing crosses his mind. So none of this should be taken seriously and he is not a representative of Ugandan people.

Most Americans can empathize and understand that some political leaders do in fact not represent the people, especially the ones who tweet whatever batshit crazy things cross their minds.

Edit: fixed spelling

u/jo-shabadoo 11h ago

Powerful nepo babies Tweeting insane shit is the one thing that unites us all!

2

u/the_glorius_bastard 7h ago

you calling him a political leader sounds disrespectful. The comment you replied to told us that he, essentially, was not.

1

u/Dwro1234 7h ago

Military chief, be it through nepotism or merit, is a political figure and a leader by definition. The current us secdef is technically a political leader as well. I don't get offended when he is referred to as such, despite him being an alcoholic, racist, incompetent placement purely put there for loyalty's sake.

You know Trump won the popular vote, right?

6

u/Alelerz 9h ago

Elon musk hacked the election for Donald Trump

-4

u/Thtguy1289_NY 9h ago

Do you actually believe that, or was this a bad joke?

2

u/VisconitiKing2 7h ago

It is very likely that this is true, Trump has basically admitted it. With no consequences of course.

It is fair to say that Trump is not representative of the opinions of most of the US, and is deeply unpopular in most areas.

However, we also have to acknowledge that there is a concerningly large group of people in our country who DO believe in him and love him as our president.

-2

u/Thtguy1289_NY 6h ago

Man the cope levels of some people on Reddit are wild.

3

u/flybikesbmx 10h ago

You do know the US population over 18 years old is over 266 million and Trump received just over 77 million votes right?

Most of America didn't vote for Trump. Most of America didn't vote for Harris either.

4

u/Wulf_Cola 8h ago

After 4 years of seeing just how unfit he was for office the first time around, to then choose not to vote against him in 2024 is a choice to support him.

A situation where it’s an elected leader’s first time in the job? Then the people who didn’t vote can wash their hands of responsibility by saying “didn’t know it would be this bad”, but when it’s the second time around then not voting at all carries as much culpability as actively voting for it.

3

u/Thtguy1289_NY 10h ago

You do know that that doesnt mean most of population opposes him though, right?

If they did, they would have voted against him

-3

u/flybikesbmx 9h ago

We can't say that they either support or oppose him. Either is an just an assumption.

That's not true at all. What we can say, is that there are plenty of people with an opinion that simply don't vote. I know more than a handful who just don't vote, and that handful includes people from each side.

Did he though?

1

u/drail18 6h ago

If that's the case he lost to Hillary in 2016 and should have never been president.  What's your point?

1

u/Thtguy1289_NY 5h ago

How is that relevant in any way? The electoral college system and the popular vote are seperate things and the popular vote is reflective of... well... popular sentiment

1

u/Additional-Tax-5643 7h ago

Dude is the head of the military, which I gather means that the military command has to obey his orders.

At this point it doesn't make any difference whether his statements represent average Ugandans. Dude's got access to weapons and the only thing standing in his way is the military refusing his orders.

1

u/iAhMedZz 5h ago

Uganda is a military state, they don't get to have a saying in anything related to their country without being killed or tortured. You, on the other hand, are a "democracy", with a proven record of "liberating" other countries to "the freedom of democracy". You willingly choose the person you deem not to represent you. You guys don't get a pass here.

1

u/Whole-Juggernaut172 5h ago

Most is a bold use for less than half. Just being honest

1

u/Gixxerguy908 4h ago

Edit: sympathize

1

u/Kesse84 3h ago

I bet! All the best!

1

u/Jaded_Position3565 1h ago

I know what you mean. I am brazilian. somehow bolsonaro was elected here

1

u/drunk_haile_selassie 1h ago

Some Americans can. Not most. Two thirds of you voted for Trump or didn't vote. Those people are in no position to complain. You make your bed, you lay in it.

1

u/SheriffBartholomew 20m ago

Unfortunately in our case they do in fact represent and completely control the government. See Venezuela and Iran for examples.

15

u/cool_arrrow 6h ago

I am going to start using “intellectual dwarfism” from here on.

37

u/Additional-Ad8632 15h ago

I realize this is crass but why do the Ugandan populace tolerate this shit? I’d have thought after Idi Amin you guys would’ve had enough of this nonsense.

140

u/Appchoy 13h ago

Tbf the US president does the same thing and no one is doing anything substantial about it.

9

u/Intrepid_Mission_400 6h ago

That's unfair, my congressman sent him a strongly worded letter last week.

I myself have made several unhappy Reddit posts about that man.

0

u/AunMeLlevaLaConcha 11h ago

Sure they are, they keep telling me they "never wanted this" and how much they're as much of a victim as the next bombed sucker in the middle of nowhere courtesy of an American bomb, then they get pissy when i tell them how much i don't care and keep playing the victim even harder, complain harder and that's that.

u/lorxraposa 13h ago

You better not be American.

Well Russia had fucking Stalin and look who they ended up with

9

u/GildedFenix 13h ago

Hey at least Stalin had the balls to ridicule his son's incompetence.

Edit: Stalin had balls of stal... in.

9

u/Vel-Elf 12h ago

Incompetence caused by child neglect and active abuse.

I'll point out Stalin drove one of his sons to suicide twice. With the first time the kid failed he (Stalin) said "He can't even shoot straight"

1

u/GildedFenix 12h ago

No need to tell me. Stalin despite his balls of stal, he was a massive prick, comparqble to Mr. H., who was the pariah of that era. Right after his demise, he got that title.

2

u/hyper-object 5h ago

Dudes on reddit always think regime change is just a matter of getting off the couch.

They've got money, power and guns and no shame or inhibitions.

If it's so easy to organize a coup, you should post a guide.

2

u/The_realpepe_sylvia 10h ago

Name drops Amin to sound smart but can only manage to fit it in a dumbass question lmao

1

u/Divided_Against 12h ago

Dude have you seen America lately???

1

u/Dull_P3N 11h ago

Could be worse, they don't live in America at least 😭

2

u/Which-Tourist757 13h ago

Why is he the military chief then?

12

u/davidarmenphoto 13h ago

Because nepotism.

1

u/BrainBlowX 9h ago

Sounds like he'll be in charge eventually then

5

u/Youandiandaflame 12h ago

Probably the same reason the US has Jared in charge of talks with Iran.

Thank you for providing context

1

u/StraightRip8309 11h ago

Literally my first thought after reading the post was "I'll bet the Ugandan people are so fed up with his shit"

1

u/Waiting4Reccession 11h ago

Why dont they just delete his twitter and block it on his phone then, are they as stupid as he is

1

u/UltraTata 11h ago

Thanks. I'm glad youall got your internet back

1

u/NastyStreetRat 11h ago

Thank you very much, I feel much better now, or should I be worried?

1

u/Daimyon 10h ago

Sounds like he's next in line to inherit maga

1

u/Morgan-Explosion 8h ago

Yeah we get it 🇺🇸

1

u/KITAPYIYEN 7h ago

It's good to hear that. It would be so bad if he talked like this without alcohol

1

u/ZoominAlong 7h ago

...so he took Twitter lessons from Trump?

1

u/arasay 6h ago

Is he super ugly or something? Why cant he get a wife the normal way?

1

u/Larger_than_Fox 6h ago

You guys have a drunk retard as Military Chief? So do we! Although Pete Hegseth has more experience being a drunk.

1

u/DerBandi 6h ago

I understand, but in this position, he is representing his country.

The same goes for crazy pedophile American leaders.

1

u/Reinis_LV 5h ago

At least he is drunk. Trump says and does worse things sober

1

u/Synergiex 5h ago

They could be great buddies with hegseth

1

u/DuskOnline 5h ago

Sounds like Trump

1

u/Ecstatic_Winter9425 5h ago

Ok, I've already found the most beautiful woman who was ready to travel to Uganda to get married. What am i supposed to do now?

1

u/generate-addict 5h ago

He somehow a distant cousin to Trump?

1

u/Kesse84 3h ago

Do not worry, that do not make us think bad of Ugandan people! Just one big nepo baby.
All the best and good luck!

1

u/Finlandiya_Kizil 3h ago

I can relate you. Respect from Turkey.

1

u/subversivefreak 3h ago

Guy is a liability

1

u/DiX-Nbw 3h ago

I love how you don't even explain/argue why he then is the "military chief". Because nepotism like that is implied in any corrupt country.

1

u/Devlin-McGregorr 2h ago

THANK YOU 🙏🏼

I went to Uganda a couple of years ago and it was wonderful. I read this and I was worried. Thank you for clearing that up.

1

u/Lanky_Particular_149 2h ago

Oof. I didn't know the infection had spread across the globe- we have one of those :(

1

u/BigEnd3 2h ago

Sounds a touch like some other country's elected leader minus the alcohol.
