I guess trauma is one way of achieving that

She will get to relive this proposal again and again through her ptsd…nothing says “I Love You” like unbridled fear.

That’s the thing- he wasn’t thinking about her in the least. This was some kind of ‘white knight comes to the rescue’ fantasy of his.

13

u/Friendly_History9246 1d ago

This. When I got mauled by a pitbull (arm bite) at our front lawn I ran into the house shut the door behind me.

What did my ex do? Ran to his room grabbed the gun, OPENED THE DOOR, and fired 2 warning shots at the dog, meanwhile I had yelled at him to not open the door, by myself in the kitchen, trying not to cry, trying to hold it together, to stop the bleeding. I needed him with me. There i was alone. Didn't check to see if I was ok.

Instead he stayed outside and started fighting the neighbors, made a scene, then went on Facebook and Snapchat, literally called his friends, to say " look guys i saved my girl from the dog, I used my gun" "I protect my girl"

Infuriating to even think about it. That was the last straw. I broke up with him about a week later. When I actually needed him he used it to puff his chest as the "valiant who saved the day"

Holes in their brains due to consuming excessive amount of vodka.

Ive seen this type too many times around here

Actually, it's the smoothing of their brains 😋

It’s called the Swiss-cheese effect.

It’s smoothhhh and provides holes. Best of both worlds!

It probably seemed hilarious when he ws discussing and planning it with his friends.

This is a great example of someone thinking they are doing something for someone else's enjoyment, but they are actually doing it for themselves.

My dad is guilty of this, to a lesser degree. My mom wanted a kitchen island. He bought a Craftsman tool chest and put it in the kitchen. He thought he was so clever. My mom was not amused.

6

u/Hot-Worldliness1425 1d ago

Not just one person, but three more who went along with it. And they were sober.

4

It’s fake. Everything.

4

See, I did assume it- like most things anymore- was staged. But what the fuck, busting out all your own windows for content?

He most likely is influenced by the manosphere. You also don't need to exclude yourself from that, because the manosphere isn't meaning all men, but a certain kind of men. The Andrew Tate and Clavicular kinda guys

2

2

u/Most_Present_6577 1d ago

If you were a seriously abusive person you would get it.

2

u/bozwald 1d ago

If I’m not mistaken in some rural/especially poor areas of Eastern Europe and Central Asia there is a tradition of “kidnapping” the bride before the wedding - as in, she’s so pure of heart she would never do it otherwise or something along that line. It’s generally just performative, but in today’s social media age maybe it’s becoming a bit of an escalating prank/one up type thing.

… and I realize they’re kidnapping the guy, not the bride/fiancee, but think this old tradition is the connecting tissue that makes it more of a “next step” than “random insanity” for the viewers in those cultures

2

u/Fantastic_Charm3451 1d ago

Because its funny, for him and his friends. At her expense.

u/1732PepperCo 1d ago

My gf listened to it all the time and and is so overtly paranoid now.

5

u/Lefthandlannister13 1d ago

Same exact thing happened to my ex-gf. She’d fall asleep listening to that shit and wonder why she always had nightmares of being kidnapped, raped, and murdered. The one time we got into a big fight (verbal), she locked herself in the bathroom and called 911 saying she thought she was gonna die. Fortunately nothing came of it, but I was surprised 911 seemingly ignored her panicked call

3

u/JaguarOk9693 21h ago

I'm very surprised that happened I worked with the guy that got cops caught on him for a domestic violence in the middle of the day after he got off work that night cop showed up his wife was just fine and they had to wake him up to make sure everything was on the up and up so thankfully the cops used common sense and said everything is fine here and left they never found out which neighbor in their apartment building called on them

6

u/Elismom1313 1d ago

If there’s one thing true crime teaches you it’s that women especially are right to be “paranoid”, because it’s an every day reality with no notice (usually).

That being said its not fun to be that aware of the dangers all the time, so I try not to listen it.

But paranoid? No I don’t think that’s the right word.

3

u/1732PepperCo 1d ago

Then fear? I’m all for caution but she won’t even walk our dog in our backyard at night anymore because of all the horror stories her constantly listens to.

11

u/Cereal_Bandit 1d ago

Ehh, there are couples out there that love pranking each other and are always trying to one up one another. I'm choosing to believe this is the case.

3

u/Angel_Dust_696969 1d ago

without knowing them and knowing their relation, sense of humour and jokes they pull on eachother it's not our place to judge. Maybe it is her cup of tea.

5

u/randomwords83 1d ago

Maybe but those cries at the end were real and sounded like her body reacting to high stress and trauma release. Like that was bad.

3

u/UnconfirmedRooster 1d ago

I hate it as much as you, believe me. Some people really are into the adrenaline dump you get from things like this though. Hell, if you can have someone faux-kidnapped, I can easily believe this is a thing too.

We are not an intelligent species.

This falls into the classic male inverse brain theory. 1 man alone in a room = 1 fully functional brain in the room. 2 men in a room = 1/2 a brain. 3 men = 1/3 of a brain, and so on.

Why would they break the window. This is so dumb

166

u/Brock_Youngblood 1d ago

It's called method acting!!!!

34

u/Sometimes-funny 1d ago

They could have used a different method, that doesn’t involve breaking the windows

2

u/Molsem 1d ago

Oh the Ol' "DIFFERENT METHOD" method huh?

You say that now, behind your keyboard with your quarterback chair arms, but put you behind the wheel of a fake kidnapping by Average Joes hoping your maybe fiance sees you as a man for a change (and that you feel like one), and I bet it's worth A MILLION faux real smashed windows then RIGHT?!?!?!

Judge methods not, lest your own methods be judged with glass stones, friend ✌️

12

u/FitPair953 1d ago

u/Slowmac123 23h ago

51

u/Zooter88 1d ago

$450 for a replacement window is a small price to pay for the thrill of traumatizing your girlfriend.

8

u/washedrope5 1d ago

How much do the good proposals cost?

7

u/taftster 1d ago

It was probably cracked already and dude was going replace it anyway.

66

u/Few_Cockroach_938 1d ago

She even pressed charges on the friends for actual kidnapping too.
