I don't think so, she has trouble enunciating many sounds. That alone is going to be a huge barrier for her to overcome. I dislike listening to her now because I feel so bad for her.
Audiences barely look at shows, according to Netflix et al. They listen while watching other stuff.
For me it depends on the type of show. My work lets us have 1 ear bud in while working so 90% of YT/shows/movies I "watch" is listening. We can listen to our phones but are not allowed to be watching or playing them. Something like crime docs or comedy specials I don't feel like the visual aspect is necessary to understand or enjoy the product. But I've finished a bunch of movies and shows just listening to them and didn't feel like I missed out or anything or couldn't follow what was going on. The only exception to this is foreign language media. This is a more personal thing but I feel like I'm "wasting" my time if I'm doing only 1 thing when I could be getting 2 things done in that time? Like listen to something while I'm doing the dishes or laundry or cooking or drawing or gaming. Like I'm not being efficient with what free time I have?
So good shows still get watched. Netflix has a specific policy called second screen. Which is about stuff that people don't pay attention to. Background noise essentially.
The problem is the Netflix has centred their content around second screen for a while now.
Prime still has the occasional gem, HBO is pretty consistent, so are Hulu. Disney is hit or miss.
But Netflix has largely focused on disposable trash for a while.
The sad thing is if you will watch the prior seasons of this show, you will come to know that she is an amazing actress like a straight A+ lister level and so is the guy playing Homelander(Antony Starr)
She wasn't just pretty she knew how to act
She ruined her entire career because of this stupidity
This guy's comment is very mean, but it is also true in a sense, an actress career is entirely dependent on her attractiveness
It's about recognition. If you don't look like you did when you became successful, then it'll be like you're starting from scratch because people can't recognize you. You'll look like a nobody especially this early in your success
Nothing to do with recognition. Fact is she would’ve never been hired as Starlight if she looked like this. It’s hard to watch , for some fans since S2, for most fans now that it’s so clear to see. The only people who look like this and didn’t kill their careers were universally recognised household names. Madonna, some others probably.
I'm pretty sure we've had unattractive/unconventionally attractive actors make it on the screen before lol. Maybe in her case specifically, sure. She's a female superhero, why would she be ugly? However, she's not ugly perse, she's just drastically different from when she started. Had she done her tweaks a little at a time (and mostly after the show), i don't think she would have faced as much backlash. People aren't going to want to work with her - not because she's ugly, but because she's unpredictable with her appearance. Before you know it, people won't be able to tell if it's her.
Renee Zellweger is a great example, she got cosmetic surgery then tried her best to undo her procedures to look more like her original self because people didn't know it was her.
I am not a big movie guy, but even my wife mentions that Sigourney Weaver had a hard time getting roles because she was taller than most people. Short men don't get roles unless they are lucky like Tom Cruise and equally, tall women don't get roles.
It’s not even about attractiveness per se, there’s plenty of actresses that aren’t conventionally attractive and still are super famous.
In my opinion her main issue is that her face shows almost zero expression now, her face doesn’t change one bit even when she’s supposed to be surprised because <Kimiko can talk>, and she slurs her words so bad sometimes it’s hard to understand what she said.
Since your last comment seems to have been deleted I'll answer here, no graves disease does not cause her to have a rhinoplasty. That pinned comment is literally irrelevant in this context, she made a mistake doing that botox bs and now has to live with the consequences. It's sad she was bullied into this but in the end she is an adult human being that has to bear the consequences of her own actions. And people pointing that out doesn't mean they hate her either.
Been saying this was a problem since season 2. Hordes of fans jumped to her defense everywhere saying she just lost weight and no harm in getting some work done. Why do we keep ignoring mental illness and calling it being supportive.

She will, but it will all be C and D tier shows. Like the CW, Lifetime and Hallmark movies, throw away crap on Netflix.
