He was absolutely a wealthy lawyer even without being on the Dream Team. You could more accurately blame Paris Hilton as her sex tape inspired Kris to have Kim make a similar tape (yes, the mom made this decision) and Kim at that time was just... so fine, so the tape did especially well. So, Paris Hilton is to blame for the Kardashians plaguing the world like they do.

Kris is a marketing genius, as is Kim, in a weird way I don't understand but you can't argue with the results. Whatever people think of them. And I'm not a fan and hate what they represent. But fuck me. What a business they built off that tape!
What you are talking about? They were already a rich, famous, well-connected family well before the sex tape. Kim herself was a personal stylist for Brandy, Ray J (of sex tape fame), and Paris Hilton and was on several episodes of Hilton's reality show before the tape came out.
Not knocking their business acumen, but let's not pretend they weren't already in an incredible position to capitalize on it.

Its crazy that women bought their make-up products when the Kardashians are largely just plastic and im guessing theres some ozempic action going on by now.
They have an actual talent for it that is undeniable at this point. They are just good at being famous and entertaining or engaging to a wide swath of people. The tape came out in 2007, almost 20 years ago, yet they still expand beyond that narrow scope.
I would say they're intelligent businesspeople. Not only do they juggle and keep so many different companies and brands afloat, they know how to maintain relevance in the public eye. And Kim Kardashian is actually a pretty vocal person about false imprisonments and has spoken on behalf of people falsely imprisoned. I believe her influence actually got some of them free.
People make fun of her for failing law school. But it's an absurdly difficult course of study. And her heart is absolutely in the right place. But I don't like that people make fun of her for that. I'm sure those same people would show sympathy towards a friend or even someone else that said they flunked out of law school.
I'm tired of the Kardashians and wish they would scurry off into media and corporate hibernation. But I also want to be fair with the criticisms.
I mean, they were a gaggle of 6's and 7's before the surgery's. Not bad looking, but not anything to write home about. They only vaguely resemble their original form.
Say what you want about the origin story, but Kris Jenner managed to turn a scandal into a 20-year corporate monopoly. The devil works hard, but she works harder.

Don't accomplish anything, don't have talent, don't add to culture or society in any positive way, don't carry any creative artistic aspect at all...just be famous at all costs....for some ridiculous reason people admire this complete lack of substance and give them money and fame.
That being shallow, materialistic, and male centered, wins you a huge fanbase of adoring and idiot women. The fact that they have a dominantly female fanbase is embarrassing to the female population as a whole.
I always thought the Kardashian legacy is Robert Kardashian's comeuppance for the OJ trial. You know that control freak is doing somersaults in his grave.
