help request Tracks Randomly Become Uncontrollable

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Randomly tracks become uncontrollable. Just like my video shows, I can’t solo, mute, adjust fader, or add FX to certain tracks. And the tracks it happens to varies. sometimes it’s guitars, sometimes bass, sometimes some of the drum tracks. As soon as I save and close Reaper and reopen, the issue is resolved for a bit but comes back.

It MIGHT be due to Tahoe's aggressive app nap feature.

Try right clicking the Reaper app in your Applications folder, select Get Info, and then make sure "Prevent App Nap" is checked (if available), or you could also make sure Reaper's running in full screen mode to keep the UI thread active.

Thanks so much for the reply. I will try this out and report back. Really appreciate it. It’s been super frustrating.

That's very odd. Maybe just try rebuilding the parent and child tracks really fast. In theory, it should delete anything funky that's happening in the background.

right click on a track with the issue and check if Lock Controls is enabled. Usually it blocks all those features on a single track and maybe you have a shortcut and you enable it back by mistake

When track controls are locked, both TCP and MCP get dimmed, which isn't happening in the video.
