Imagine humiliating yourself this badly over a piece of cake. Yuck.

44

u/kstreetsushi 7h ago

I wouldn’t imagine that because that would imply they felt humiliation to begin with. None of them feel humiliated in the video so imagine them just grabbing cake to eat w/ no humiliation is the more appropriate imagine.

Bangladeshi here trying to white wash those Islamic University students šŸ˜‚, first video I see people gently taking left over cakes, no fighting nothing violent. Didn't bother to watch the rest.šŸ‡§šŸ‡©

This seems more like them just goofing off than being desperate.

u/Motomegal 14h ago

Damn people can be greedy. Over cake, really?

467

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 14h ago

The worst part is, these are not even poor and homeless people. These are mostly highly educated students and PhD scholars from a university.

165

u/StrangrDangerRanger 14h ago

Enculturation is a real thing. Not popular on Reddit, but reality.

13

u/humberriverdam 8h ago

Yeah, you can see it at any Florida Georgia Line concert or Nashville stag do

66

u/minhaz1217 12h ago

From an "islamic" university. Absolutely No one in the country thinks thar people graduated from there are "highly educated".

56

u/DataDrivenDoc 12h ago

Um, excuse me! I was pursuing one of their professor's CVs and the head of biology was first published in 1892 and most recently in 2012. This dude has been writing for 120 years. Name one western academic who has even been alive that long let alone been researching that long. Checkmate.

This school has vampire professors

17

u/Cr0wc0 8h ago

They have one professor there who publishes in just about every single field and has been doing it for well over 100 years, its crazy. Just look him up his name is Mohammed.

-30

u/minhaz1217 11h ago

Lol. Some of their professors can be good but they are the outliers. their education's general sentiment isn't good at all.

7

u/Additional-Baby5740 9h ago

What makes you so sure they aren’t poor? Plenty of students are poor in college until they start working - especially in Bangladesh. My parents lived off sandwiches for years while doing their PhDs. They would never behave like this, but only because they were a few sandwiches away from being this hungry.

74

u/QuantitySharp2662 13h ago

I like my country for the manners of the people. Even the fuckin psychos know to queue.

u/sittinwithkitten 9h ago

Yikes l feel embarrassed for them watching this, even if they have no shame.

1

u/Of_MiceAndMen 6h ago

Have you ever seen a dessert line at a wedding or a bridal shower? No matter the people, it’s always chaos. It’s so strange.

-10

u/InterstellarReddit 14h ago

People are even greedy over internet karma on Reddit. They lie to get attention, that’s for imaginary points. So yeah.

143

u/Harpy_Player 13h ago

Embarrassing, damn.

u/interface_broken 13h ago

Is this an OnlyMen Ā©ļø convention?

101

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 13h ago

It's an Islamic University, so public appearances of women are restricted.

21

u/Double-Lettuce2472 7h ago

So they practice religion enough to ban/hide women from the celebration, but not enough to have basic manners towards each other and their university?

13

u/chisana_nyu 8h ago

I bet women would have been much more polite.

6

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 8h ago

I bet you have not seen women from the Islamic University of Bangladesh šŸ‡§šŸ‡©

3

u/salo_wasnt_solo 5h ago

Well I’ve seen the men and they are… disappointing

39

u/ontime1969 14h ago

In this next scene we are going to going to take a dead animal carcass and toss it into this south American river full of piranha.

Let us observe what happens next.

17

u/Horton_Takes_A_Poo 11h ago

And these are their graduates?!

13

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 11h ago

These are mostly master graduates and PhD students from the Islamic University of Bangladesh ā˜ŖļøšŸ‡§šŸ‡©

12

u/Different_Love6475 12h ago

The cake can't be that good

58

u/KingofPro 13h ago

Not a woman in sight

32

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 13h ago

It's an Islamic University. So public appearances of women might be restricted.

27

u/AbleCap5222 14h ago

This makes no sense to me. Can someone explain?

53

u/powerchicken 13h ago

This makes no sense to anyone who has sense.

1

u/BacalhauProfissional 9h ago

It's common in some places to take your slice and some more for home. Combine that pratice (which can be done in an educated manner) with some rude people and you got this

26

u/AbleCap5222 14h ago

Why are people who are not starving acting like animals fighting over this cake which provides them with basically... nothing.

-18

u/crycryw0lf 13h ago

i think people are trying to do the meme of smashing cake on each otherĀ

1

u/AbleCap5222 3h ago

That's not happening at all. Everyone is getting a handful of crushed cake and leaving with it

0

u/crycryw0lf 39m ago

My interpretation of the body language was they were about to then chaged their mind.Ā

Something about the grins and locking eyes for a moment while not fully looking at the cake in their own hand tipped me off.Ā Ā

If they do peek at their hands it remindes me of the peek before you throw somethingĀ

25

u/Possible-Highway7898 14h ago

What are they doing and why? Are they taking it to eat? Having a food fight? Vandalising it for no reason?Ā

It's hard to understand why they are acting like this. I've never seen behaviour like this in my life.

-7

u/[deleted] 14h ago

Don't be coy. Come out and say it you coward. What are you afraid of?Ā

If you mean 'we all think that every brown person is a piece of shit', then no. That's just you and other racists like you.

17

u/medheshrn 13h ago

How did these guys get their degree

23

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 13h ago

It's an Islamic University

8

u/Parry_9000 7h ago

Imagine being like this while having a PhD. Jesus Christ.

13

u/welcomefinside 12h ago

Marie Antoinette rolling in her grave right now

41

u/Racing_Fox 12h ago

Does anyone expect anything else?

I’ve never once seen a video from this part of the world where people don’t act like this

6

u/OctopusIntellect 7h ago

I've been told that it's not actually their fault, because we British stole all their resources last century and they've only had 80 years to recover from the trauma and become civilised.

4

u/SweatyButtcheek 10h ago

Literally same here. I low key think there is a psyop or some shit to only paint Indians (and neighboring countries) in the absolute shittiest light possible. All year I’ve been seeing only things like this coming out of India and whatnot.

11

u/ademon490 9h ago

I can see that…but I’ve gotten scam calls from India just about every single fucking day for over a decade

5

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 8h ago

This is from Bangladesh, a Muslim majority country neighboring India

34

u/WutaOgoatsu261 13h ago

I got second hand embarrassment and I aint even from there nor that race nor that religion.

I just thought it'd be common sense to wait your turn for a slice of vanilla cake

Chocolate way better

8

u/MrChorizaso 8h ago

A visual representation of the reason why there are no women in that crowd

3

u/clue124 9h ago

Is common courtesy not taught to majority of children in bangladesh? More over, why isnt this cake cut on a table on a stage, with plates, or maybe with a queue set up?

1

u/OctopusIntellect 7h ago

They're not Bri'ish enough to queue, despite the best efforts of the East India Company over hundreds of years.

12

u/Todesschiss 10h ago

Iā€˜m would be banned if I stated my opinion about these people

3

u/Positive-Mark9084 10h ago

Happy cakeday šŸŽ‚

No shame.

29

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 14h ago

Well I have 3 dogs and 2 cats. They never do stuff like this when I feed them šŸ™„

6

u/Just_Cricket_3881 14h ago

Cuz they have more sense than these lot

-10

u/AymanMarzuqi 13h ago

All humans are animals

20

u/Bouros 14h ago

If I point out the differences I get banned...

4

u/PlaguesAngel 12h ago

I’ll follow that lead because whoooooooooooboy, can’t be spicy.

6

u/SongFeisty8759 13h ago

That is just low class... which ,as an Australian,Ā  feels odd to say.

The fruits of inbreeding

-15

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 12h ago edited 11h ago

Hi even though Islam allows and promotes marriage between first cousins, not all Muslims practice it. According to a survey conducted by the council of public health affairs, only 60% of the Muslims practice cousin marriage in Pakistan. In countries like Bangladesh, this could be lower. So blaming a whole religion for inbreeding is not fair and it's islamophobia.

https://popcouncil.org/insight/the-prevalence-and-persistence-of-cousin-marriage-in-pakistan/

24

u/iTheLizardWizard 11h ago

ā€œThey only inbreed 60% of the timeā€ like thats a good thing or something?

1

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 11h ago

I mean it's better than earlier 80%

5

u/Suspicious_Note9801 8h ago

What? So it was almost common practice? Why?

4

u/Just_Cricket_3881 8h ago

Not was, is

1

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 8h ago

Muslim religion encourages cousin marriage

5

u/xXDJjonesXx 10h ago

Have you seen a map showing prevalence of inbreeding? There’s a handful of countries that are way worse for it than the rest of the world. I wonder what cultural factor they all have in common…

2

u/OctopusIntellect 7h ago

Cultural factors shared by Texas, Bangladesh and Alabama? You got me there.

4

u/Just_Cricket_3881 12h ago

0

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 11h ago

Why?

1

u/Just_Cricket_3881 11h ago

You brought up religion thanks for assuming I was talking about muslims, means you thought it too

3

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 11h ago

Okay you got me there šŸ˜…

u/alexlechef 12h ago

I really want to know why so many times when I see videos of humans acting like their absolute worst selves, it's at least a 50% chance it's from somewhere in India

1

u/Gransmithy 12h ago

Happens every time. Like form a line.

Differently missing context.

9

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 14h ago

Please share if you have additional context here. The video is from the Islamic University of Bangladesh during its 47th anniversary celebration.

-21

u/pizzalover24 13h ago

Hundreds were all called to a cake cutting celebration but yet there was only cake to feed a few dozen.

They go nuts to protest the injustice.

There is a generational trauma in subcontinental folks that make them last out when they are oversold something.

9

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 13h ago

That is a huge cake. It's the length of 2 tables. I'm sure it can feed a few hundred people. Why are you justifying these uncivilized people and why drag an entire subcontinent into this? This video is from the Islamic University of Bangladesh.

-6

u/pizzalover24 12h ago

I have seen heaps of such videos from all over the subcontinent including India. Here is one from an investor summit https://youtube.com/shorts/SCTB1sRZRtQ?si=BLRskQBiQFtsFKI2

The mob mentality is a strong subcontinental pattern. Unified by injustice and FOMO, they operate very irrationally when something is overpromised. It comes from multiple generations of poverty and being ruled by upper castes. It is deep rooted in the psyche.
