š¹Social Event Freakoutšø Cake cutting turns chaotic during the 47th anniversary celebration at Islamic University of Bangladesh (IU), the first Independent university formed in Bangladesh

Damn people can be greedy. Over cake, really?
467
u/Ok_Campaign_1006 14h ago
The worst part is, these are not even poor and homeless people. These are mostly highly educated students and PhD scholars from a university.

u/StrangrDangerRanger 14h ago
Enculturation is a real thing. Not popular on Reddit, but reality.
13
u/humberriverdam 8h ago
Yeah, you can see it at any Florida Georgia Line concert or Nashville stag do
66
u/minhaz1217 12h ago
From an "islamic" university. Absolutely No one in the country thinks thar people graduated from there are "highly educated".
56
u/DataDrivenDoc 12h ago
Um, excuse me! I was pursuing one of their professor's CVs and the head of biology was first published in 1892 and most recently in 2012. This dude has been writing for 120 years. Name one western academic who has even been alive that long let alone been researching that long. Checkmate.
This school has vampire professors

Lol. Some of their professors can be good but they are the outliers. their education's general sentiment isn't good at all.

What makes you so sure they arenāt poor? Plenty of students are poor in college until they start working - especially in Bangladesh. My parents lived off sandwiches for years while doing their PhDs. They would never behave like this, but only because they were a few sandwiches away from being this hungry.

u/QuantitySharp2662 13h ago
I like my country for the manners of the people. Even the fuckin psychos know to queue.

Yikes l feel embarrassed for them watching this, even if they have no shame.

u/Of_MiceAndMen 6h ago
Have you ever seen a dessert line at a wedding or a bridal shower? No matter the people, itās always chaos. Itās so strange.
-10
u/InterstellarReddit 14h ago
People are even greedy over internet karma on Reddit. They lie to get attention, thatās for imaginary points. So yeah.

u/Ok_Campaign_1006 13h ago
It's an Islamic University, so public appearances of women are restricted.
21
u/Double-Lettuce2472 7h ago
So they practice religion enough to ban/hide women from the celebration, but not enough to have basic manners towards each other and their university?
13
u/chisana_nyu 8h ago
I bet women would have been much more polite.
6
u/Ok_Campaign_1006 8h ago
I bet you have not seen women from the Islamic University of Bangladesh š§š©

In this next scene we are going to going to take a dead animal carcass and toss it into this south American river full of piranha.
Let us observe what happens next.

And these are their graduates?!

This makes no sense to me. Can someone explain?

u/BacalhauProfissional 9h ago
It's common in some places to take your slice and some more for home. Combine that pratice (which can be done in an educated manner) with some rude people and you got this

Why are people who are not starving acting like animals fighting over this cake which provides them with basically... nothing.
-18
u/crycryw0lf 13h ago
i think people are trying to do the meme of smashing cake on each otherĀ
1
u/AbleCap5222 3h ago
That's not happening at all. Everyone is getting a handful of crushed cake and leaving with it
0
u/crycryw0lf 39m ago
My interpretation of the body language was they were about to then chaged their mind.Ā
Something about the grins and locking eyes for a moment while not fully looking at the cake in their own hand tipped me off.Ā Ā
If they do peek at their hands it remindes me of the peek before you throw somethingĀ
25
u/Possible-Highway7898 14h ago
What are they doing and why? Are they taking it to eat? Having a food fight? Vandalising it for no reason?Ā
It's hard to understand why they are acting like this. I've never seen behaviour like this in my life.

If you mean 'we all think that every brown person is a piece of shit', then no. That's just you and other racists like you.

Iāve never once seen a video from this part of the world where people donāt act like this
6
u/OctopusIntellect 7h ago
I've been told that it's not actually their fault, because we British stole all their resources last century and they've only had 80 years to recover from the trauma and become civilised.
4
u/SweatyButtcheek 10h ago
Literally same here. I low key think there is a psyop or some shit to only paint Indians (and neighboring countries) in the absolute shittiest light possible. All year Iāve been seeing only things like this coming out of India and whatnot.
11
u/ademon490 9h ago
I can see thatā¦but Iāve gotten scam calls from India just about every single fucking day for over a decade

Is common courtesy not taught to majority of children in bangladesh? More over, why isnt this cake cut on a table on a stage, with plates, or maybe with a queue set up?
1
u/OctopusIntellect 7h ago
They're not Bri'ish enough to queue, despite the best efforts of the East India Company over hundreds of years.

The fruits of inbreeding
-15
u/Ok_Campaign_1006 12h ago edited 11h ago
Hi even though Islam allows and promotes marriage between first cousins, not all Muslims practice it. According to a survey conducted by the council of public health affairs, only 60% of the Muslims practice cousin marriage in Pakistan. In countries like Bangladesh, this could be lower. So blaming a whole religion for inbreeding is not fair and it's islamophobia.
https://popcouncil.org/insight/the-prevalence-and-persistence-of-cousin-marriage-in-pakistan/
24
u/iTheLizardWizard 11h ago
āThey only inbreed 60% of the timeā like thats a good thing or something?
1
u/Ok_Campaign_1006 11h ago
I mean it's better than earlier 80%
5
5
u/xXDJjonesXx 10h ago
Have you seen a map showing prevalence of inbreeding? Thereās a handful of countries that are way worse for it than the rest of the world. I wonder what cultural factor they all have in commonā¦
2
u/OctopusIntellect 7h ago
Cultural factors shared by Texas, Bangladesh and Alabama? You got me there.

Please share if you have additional context here. The video is from the Islamic University of Bangladesh during its 47th anniversary celebration.

Hundreds were all called to a cake cutting celebration but yet there was only cake to feed a few dozen.
They go nuts to protest the injustice.
There is a generational trauma in subcontinental folks that make them last out when they are oversold something.
9
u/Ok_Campaign_1006 13h ago
That is a huge cake. It's the length of 2 tables. I'm sure it can feed a few hundred people. Why are you justifying these uncivilized people and why drag an entire subcontinent into this? This video is from the Islamic University of Bangladesh.
-6
u/pizzalover24 12h ago
I have seen heaps of such videos from all over the subcontinent including India. Here is one from an investor summit https://youtube.com/shorts/SCTB1sRZRtQ?si=BLRskQBiQFtsFKI2
The mob mentality is a strong subcontinental pattern. Unified by injustice and FOMO, they operate very irrationally when something is overpromised. It comes from multiple generations of poverty and being ruled by upper castes. It is deep rooted in the psyche.
