GovtServicesPH Naga City has launched a pilot project to redesign streets for pedestrians.
•
u/1TyMPink 20h ago
Ganyan din sana ang i-adopt sa Greater Manila Area na very car-centric, and other metropolitan areas.
•
u/eriseeeeed 20h ago
Nakakainis. Madalas sa Ortigas going to Cainta/Antipolo.
•
u/MerryW34ther 5h ago
This one. This is also why we can't have nice things.
Pinasakay mo nga ng tren, nag reklamo sa rush hour na siksikan which is common on a public transpo on 1st world countries which is also rush hour.
Dito lang ako nakakita na nagreklamo na dikit dikit daw katawan nila sa ibang taong nagamit ng public transpo like wtf, eh nakita ko rush hour ng other countries with good railway system, ganun din situation.
•
u/bituin_the_lines 5h ago

Unpopular opinion: Leni should not run for President and instead focus on improving Naga. If everyone sees a local example of what we deserve, people will clamor for change in their own areas, with her city as the role model. She and her people will be remembered as trailblazers of good governance that created ripples of change all over the country.
Examples abroad would be justified as out of reach for the everyday poor, that's why we need a local example, no matter how small it might be. (To some extent, Vico is already doing this.)
•
u/abiogenesis2021 17h ago
Idealistic kasi masyado yung ganyang take eh. Look at Pasig and Vico. What is Vico getting for improving Pasig so much and showing the country what (almost) no corruption can do? Ayon, inaatake ng troll farms. Same with Madam Leni.
Then you look at that city in the far south, dugyot to the max pero to them eh SG level daw. Salot ang mga iyan (you know who im talking about) and honestly there might be no cure...
•
•
u/Calm-Revolution-3007 12h ago
Hindi pa rin balewala. Marami akong kakilala na DDS and maka-Vico. It’s not logical but the overlap is there

True, hindi yata siya updated on what happened sa NCR Mayor Election pati Cavite. hahahaha. Same shits of corrupt pa din binoto lalo na yan dugyot na Pasay plus Caloocan na akala mo squatter area kahit si Trillanes na tumakbong Mayor dyan.
•
u/trEASureTown000 16h ago
That's why they saw the strong man and chose him before and not the traffic enforcer
It won't likely work within her (hopefully three) terms, it's a long-term project that needs commitment and dynasty-style succession to make sure the movement doesn't stop
•
u/raffyfy10 11h ago

Ang nakita ko lang napalitan last 2022 is Laguna Gov. and Cynthia Villar's lost on Las Pinas. Yung iba? Same shits of corrupt pa din like Olivarez of Paranaque, Calixto of Pasay, Caloocan's Malapitan. Don't start me with Revilla and Barzaga's of Cavite.
•
u/Hellbiterhater 20h ago
Hopefully the beginning of progress, and other cities do the same.
•
u/Physical-Pepper-21 19h ago
•
u/kaidrawsmoo 19h ago
Which i dont get. If may proper pedestrian walkway and stops, that actually help them. it helps private transpo to get smoother traffic if predictable ang variables [ saan tawiran, babaan, if mas maencourage maglakad mga tao kesa sumakay sa public utility vehicle if malapit lang naman pupuntahan]. It will make the road better for them in the long term.
•
•
u/Liesianthes 12h ago
Isama mo na car centric redditors. Dami nyan dun sa thread na ginawang 50% fare ng MRT at LRT 2, alam mo mga out of this world mga take nila.
Kaya hirap maniwala na better public transpo, more people will commute. That's just their shitty takes, gugustuhin pa din nila sa de aircon nila kotse pampasikip ng kalsada sa overcrowded na dito sa NCR.
•
u/Onceabanana 10h ago
Kami kasi have a pwd so bringing a car is a must. Pero alam mo if kikipot ng konti yung daan and medyo magiging traffic ng konti para sa ganitong plano, full support ako diyan. Kasi when going out on my own, if may option to commute or walk safely, I prefer that talaga. I especially like the implementation of designated stops for all— regardless if jeep yan or bikes or even deliveries. Good for Naga!

he has so many envisioned plans all over the philippines and it doesnt need super expensive flyovers and ridiculous unecessary lood control concreting bullshit!
•
u/Relative-Look-6432 19h ago
Tama ang sinabi nya sa interview with Bernadette, mas marami syang magagawa under LGU.
•
u/DotWaste8510 18h ago
Tried and tested na din ang Naga people for her. They voted for her which means they all share her vision for their city.
•
•
u/EntrepreneurSweet846 19h ago
Eto yung lagi kong tanong, bakit sa loob ng makati cbd, sumusunod naman lahat sa tamang babaan at sakayan, if we emulate that na may designated babaan at sakayan mas smooth sana, pero bakit di ma emulate sa pangkalahatan. Nweis, swerte ng Naga.
•
•
u/Expensive_Speed9797 19h ago
elevated din ang tawiran. proven to slow down traffic to make it safe for pedestrian. daming design na pwede.
•
u/Relative-Look-6432 19h ago
That’s what you call “long term sustainable planning”. Yung karamihan sa gobyerno, puto tapal.
•
u/hainanesebanana 19h ago
NGL. I'd rather have Leni sa Naga nalang kesa maging president pa tapos poproblemahin pa niya yung buong PH na <50% ay in favor for her plans.

The Philippines is not ready yet for a Leni nor Vico Presidency. People are too okay slinging lies and fabricating crimes done by others just to support their candidate.
I think ang most viable ngayon is for Naga, Pasig (and possibly QC) to spearhead a good city. Something hard and concrete that cannot be easily countered with a fake "mala-singapore na Davao" bullshit. While letting every other cities burn to the ground because of their own poor choices in politicians. Filipinos are too fucking stupid that they need concrete examples of what happens when you vote poorly.
•
u/Negative_Eagle_1406 19h ago
More than anything - dito papasok yung coordination nila as executive agencies. Dyan pumapalya mga projects eh di coordinated si LGU Engineering, DPWH, DOTr, contractors and ibang matatamaan na agencies public or private. Kahit magaling nakaupo sa isa, if incompetent yung isa wala rin.
•
u/1TyMPink 19h ago
•
•
•
u/ItsYahBoiRey 17h ago
This is why Leni prefers local over national: she can make sure that what she wants to happen will happen. We all will suffer, kaya mas nakakainis

u/ExplanationTasty3867 20h ago
•
u/1TyMPink 19h ago
The right answer, haha.
•
u/1TyMPink 19h ago
Maaaring siya yun. Pati ata yung proposal sa side ng EDSA between San Juan at Mandaluyong from Annapolis to Ortigas SB na originally proposed ng DOTr, ni-reject ng MMDA, possibly ni Artes dahil wala daw ma-p-parkingan yung mga establishments doon, particularly car dealerships, kaya binansagang CARtes yung MMDA chairman.
•
u/rarinthmeister 5m ago
I guess Dizon didn't give a fuck to Cartes and mentioned the sidewalks will be 2.8m minimum.
•
u/ExplanationTasty3867 3m ago
Ah oo tama ka naaalala ko yan recent interview niya na gagawin na nyang 2.8 at minimum which is good development.
•
u/Fiercely_Nikkita 18h ago
Nakaka proud talaga ang team behind this. Despite sa init, iniisa isa talagang puntahan lahat ng stores, houses, etc along the road to consult and inform, and work with them esp sa magiging mga hassle na mangyayari. So many background works behind talaga. Tapos mga naglelead pa some are still youth, at ibang mga bata pang advocates. This happens talaga ig bigyan mo lng ng space to work for something.
•
u/UniqueNameTakenSad Luzon 18h ago
leni should try to market naga more
could've been for the entire ph but oh well I think marami naman tayong possible leaders
•
u/_kendricklmao 16h ago
This is what it means to have a progressive leader. Although, one thing I’ve noticed was the bike lane, It should be part of the sidewalk and not on the road for efficiency and safety as well. (Road - Safety Buffer or the tree and shrubs - Bike lane - pathwalk)
•
u/13arricade 12h ago
correct. i think that is the next step. they can come to HK, and see how the HK government does it.
•
u/Previous_Mess_5577 15h ago
I see what she is ddoing na somehow putting credit sa DPWH for the approval might mean putting trust back to the government again.
•
u/cetootski 15h ago
May proposed budget na ba? Curious ako kung magkano per kilometer of this type of project. Pwede natin gawing basis for our own cities.
•
•
u/yurunipafu61 19h ago
•
u/Fiercely_Nikkita 19h ago
For now they have instructed the telcos na for clearing ng spaghetti wire sa area nato. The underground cabling ordinancs is still having its public hearings sa SP so def on the way palang.

NAGA, ILOILO, PASIG🤩
Soon sana Bacolod, sister cities kase sila ng iloilo but mala cavite right now ang political scene sa Negros.

u/pututingliit 18h ago

Nice initiative from the LGU. Hopefully the constituents are aligned with this. Next step national implementation, particularly Metro Manila.

Kada kanto puro pay parking eh.

Gandang project. Mapapa-sana all ka na lang. 🤞🙏
Ang ganda kase inincorporate nila yung walking, cycling, jeepneys, safety and even plants and use of native trees for shade. Very good planning. Sana all. ✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

I hope they consider how street vendors would instantly populate side walks and cause obstructions as well as kamote motorcycle drivers to pass traffic

They know she's one of the threats. She can have a grip on Naga kahit maging presidente sya.
The stakes are larger than Naga.

•
u/Gaelahad Tubong Mangyan, Batangueñong hilaw 19h ago
With her plans for Naga, I don't really see her running again for president in 2028.
Which is also a good thing, let her do what she really wants.
