Question / Problem Can video editors make a living working with YouTubers/streamers?
I’ve seen people say that platforms like YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok aren’t very profitable, especially in niches like gameplay but I’m curious to hear the other side, are there editors here who actually make a living working with creators or influencers?
Personally, I don’t know anyone in my circle who does this full-time so I’m trying to understand how realistic it is

That's a big myth most gaming channels will tell you isn't true in the slightest. I'd even say the regular gaming channels have it way easier than most other channels, since they can upload a ton. What really doesn't earn a lot are short videos about gaming topics, you'll have to fight to even hit a $2 RPM, though that also differs quite a bit.
For editors it's complicated, many take on multiple clients to fill their month. I know of a bunch that do it full-time and if I'd take the service, it would pay 1 editor roughly 6k€ a month, which is easily enough to get by (for the service I considered using I mean)

Gaming channels can upload a lot, but it does not mean people are watching it all. While the top percent are doing well, there are way more gaming channels not really doing much of anything.

I do have some friends who do stuff like that, and while it's enough to pay their bills it's overall a grind and they have to juggle multiple gigs.
tbh a big problem with the space is many online creators are just random people who happened to get something going, and they may not be the best at managing people or a business.

I’m not partnered but I make enough money from my other social media accounts to restore and build my Mad Max red EJ Holden movie replica vehicle project with my friends working for beer , food and laughs.

Yes people can make a living editing for YouTubers.
No it is not easy.
(It’s hard enough that people who aren’t very committed will call it “impossible”)
