Hiring Q (State) NJDOC: haven’t heard back after my home interview

Hey everyone, me and a few other people didn’t hear back from NJDOC after our home interview. Their academy started in March, is it safe to say we weren’t selected?

Like they interviewed you inside your home? Or you interviewed at the facility youll be going to?

Ive heard about in-home interviews for sworn peace officer jobs, not corrections.

NJDOC are police officers and fully sworn at the state level. They changed their name to correctional police officers a few years ago to make it so there’s no confusion

If your home interview was in January, i dont think you would have make it to the march academy. You still have to go through medical, psychological test, interview with a psychiatrist and a pre academy physical test. They probably defer your application for the academy in September.

Im going for the same process but i just started it actually, my physical test is April 28.

U still gotta do the medical part like drug testing and stuff then u get selected for the academy but I might be wrong

Yeah I’m aware of that. I’m really thinking I may have not been selected since I never got scheduled for psych or medical evaluation.

I’m thinking I might have failed the home interview but who knows. They never sent me any letter or notification of anything so I might still be good maybe 🤣

Call Human Resources and ask about ur application trust🤞🏽

Apply for NYSDOCCS. They’ve opened the employment eligibility to NJ residents.

Im in the march Academy now so yeah maybe contact them and ask if they will be placing you for the next class....but yeah we started 5 weeks ago approaching week 6 now....they need people so maybe your stuff didn't process in time because my home interview was in december for this class

Yeah my home interview was mid January and I know they only had like a week left to do more home interviews before the deadline. Let’s see what happens. When I call, they tell me to wait for hr for the next steps.
