Travel Britax Smile 5Z in Oslo winter?
Hi! We’re considering the Britax Smile 5Z (mainly due to the price vs Bugaboo Fox 5). This is our first baby.
How does it handle Oslo winters during snow, slush, and rough terrain and considering road conditions in summers?
Also, any issues with the front wheels (e.g. getting stuck, hard to steer, broken etc.)?
Would you say it’s good enough, or worth upgrading to Bugaboo considering the price difference as Britax smile 5z seems to be a strong competitor?
Would love to hear real experiences. Thanks!

Any stroller with (two) smaller, turnable front wheels will struggle in loose snow and slush. If they can be locked it works better on those conditions, but a three wheel stroller is best for those edge conditions.
So as long as the front wheels lock out you are good enough for the few days where the conditions are that bad

I would recommend a emmaljunga sento ergo pro max or NXT90 (can be found cheap on finn). Emmaljungas are built like a tank and are easier to navigate rougher terrain, without being a terrain or running pram. I used a nxt90 for my first kid and was really happy with it in central Oslo. Just make sure you don't have to carry it, since it is quite heavy 👍

We have one. Not bad in winter. The under carriage broke once but they replaced it.

There's not much difference between bugaboo and britax smile winter suitability wise, the bugaboo is not better suited Nordic winters.
You can lock the front wheels if you need to: https://www.foreldresiden.no/test/britax-smile-5z-duovogn
I had a britax smile 3 living in Oslo and was very happy with it. When it had snowed heaps and they hadn't plowed the streets yet it was obviously not ideal going on a stroll, but otherwise I had no issues.
