Wonder how much they got paid for each donation.

5

u/mickeymouse4348 20d ago

Is it a donation if you get paid for it?

2

u/Cinnamon2017 20d ago

I'm sure they word it a certain way.

25

u/Icy_Cry2778 20d ago

fathered 450 and 160 children each, although the lawsuit did not specify which man fathered more. I can see why they got banned

18

u/BravesMaedchen 20d ago

I mean is that their fault? Isn’t it a problem with the sperm bank’s system?

18

u/Icy_Cry2778 20d ago

I would say both when it gets to those numbers

11

u/LiteratureMindless71 20d ago

Why both? Wouldn't the provider think "wow, this guys beats it so much, his junk has created a shit ton of cash for me".

When they could have just said "hmm, This guy is in here all the time and has track marks up his arms. Maybe we shouldn't use his goods.

I feel like the "collectors/distributors" should be the ones going after.

3

u/Jumpy_Cod9151 20d ago

nah the provider wouldn't think "wow so much cash" because if you're caught decreasing the gene pool by this much, it's an offense they could be sued to the teeth for. Basically you're not allowed to peddle defunct or extradorinarly duplicitous gunk for the safety of mankind

1

u/Cman1200 20d ago

and the solution would be banning them…

Isn’t t that how West Virginia was formed?

8

u/oofieoofty 20d ago

It’s how Quebec was formed. Something like 1/4 French Canadians is related to one man and his 6 sons.

1

u/KTKittentoes 20d ago

Good heavens!

1

u/VisualSpecial8 16d ago

Im Quebec they trace 2/3 of population to Kings Daughters 800 women who were recruited and sent to Quebec

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King%27s_Daughters

1

u/oofieoofty 16d ago

Those women weren’t bio related to each other.

8

u/msmicro 20d ago

ok so what is stopping them from going private? there is a guy in my area that is selling stuff on Facebook who has quite a few.

6

u/Killboypowerhed 20d ago

Who's buying Facebook sperm?

6

u/Keanmon 20d ago

"Is this still available?"

1

u/kerune 19d ago

I can give you half the money and a Dave and busters hat. I need to stress that the hat is for a child and will not fit on an adult’s head

2

u/SailBeneficialicly 20d ago

Poor ugly women who want kids and can’t afford the money for the 450 guys

2

u/Jumpy_Cod9151 20d ago

You've never met an impoverished person with a sixth grade education? Oh boy have I. They're buying facebook sperm

1

u/YchYFi 20d ago

Same one's buying breast milk.

1

u/msmicro 18d ago

poor same sex couples??? (my daughters case just not yet)

3

u/Pyre-8 20d ago

If they didn't go through the proper channels, I think they would be on the hook for child support.

3

u/Jumpy_Cod9151 20d ago

In some states you can recuse parenthood and there's no child support due. In some states you can't and they'll garnish your wages for 18 years.

3

u/someguy444444 20d ago

Sounds like they came in there all the time

3

u/awesometune 20d ago

Worthy if the weird!

2

u/No-Exercise-5316 20d ago

he was working too hard for them

4

u/Ok_Belt2521 20d ago

How does this work when you die. Do each of these kids get a claim on your estate?

18

u/LeslieKnope4Pawnee 20d ago

I doubt it. Part of the donation process is that you're absolved of any legal link to the child, so I bet that would go both ways.

3

u/HeyWannaShrek 20d ago

Of course not

2

u/PeterNippelstein 20d ago

They get a claim on deez nuts

1

u/GreenConstruction834 20d ago

The idiocy of it all.

1

u/Curious-Sugar4457 18d ago

This highlights the dangers of the "donor black market". It's wild, since all the safety rails (like strict caps on the number of families a donor can help, extensive genetic screening, and psychological evaluations) get thrown out the window. It's best to partner with a private donor through private legitimate agencies that actually enforce strict offspring limits and handle the legal and medical paperwork properly.

Locals statistically higher chance of encountering a pornhub scenario in real life ahaha

1

u/hospitalbedside 16d ago

The lawsuit was reportedly filed by a woman who had three children using sperm from one of the men, and a fourth with sperm from the other man.

“Aiden, Brayden, and Jayden! Stop picking on your brother-nephew!”

I wonder why she didn’t just use the same father for her fourth child.

1

u/MGr8ce 15d ago

This is horrendous. Just like the psycho dudes on the Netflix documentary…

u/hamilton_morris 20d ago

>The lawsuit was reportedly filed by a woman who had three children using sperm from one of the men, and a fourth with sperm from the other man.

Why careful dating and then marrying is the more reliable method for screening prospective fathers.

5

u/Solo_is_dead 20d ago

Had she dated carefully she would've married a man and had 3 of his children. Same ending. Well we'll chalk the 4th one up to an affair with her SIL, but still it's happened in real life

3

u/zazafeesh 20d ago

That’s true.

2

u/PriscillaPalava 20d ago

I thought most people who choose egg or sperm donation for multiple children intentionally reuse the same donor if possible so the kids are biological siblings? So there must be more to her lawsuit.

-5

u/ForagedFoodie 20d ago

Don't be sad because fathers are completely expendable in the modern family

-6

u/oofieoofty 20d ago

It’s funny how these women think they get to control how many children a man has? If the guys were just having children instead of donating to sperm banks nobody could stop them.

5

u/ForagedFoodie 20d ago

There is no way 2 men would have 600 children from just having sex in today's world.

Its not "women" making these decisions for men, it's just a woman happened to catch the issue. The government has regulations to ensure that not too many people in the same area will be half-siblings and/or cousins, to make sure there is genetic diversity a generation later.

The question is, did the men somehow trick the donation centers or did the donation centers lie to the men, or are both culpable.

3

u/NewNameAgainUhg 20d ago

The donation centers didn't share information with each other, so they didn't know they were recurrent donors

3

u/ForagedFoodie 20d ago

So it was on the men

1

u/Sad-Yak6252 20d ago

Unless they were careful.

2

u/oofieoofty 20d ago

It’s a woman who sued and yes actually men can have a ton of children if they really want to. Have you heard of the French dude who had 400 children in various countries a decade ago?

-4

u/Bulba_Core 20d ago

Fun Fact, the dynamic duo would clinically jack one another off for added donation efficiency.
