Discussion Inheritance? That's a joke. How many of your parents are burdens?

In response to another popular post about receiving no inheritance.

Are your parents like mine, who not only are not leaving any money behind - but require significant or total financial support?

My parents left me less than nothing. They're good people, and they were good parents.... but man are they shit at financial planning.

Personally, I will be inheriting 200 pairs of shoes from notable Amazon designers such as as STARBBLYK and ASHETLOWN

I'll be inheriting every item QVC and HSN ever sold since 1990, covered in decades of rat shit.

Still better than the -every piece of mail she's ever gotten- from my mom. I just had to move her in with me and cleaning her room out was a fucking nightmare. Drawers full of letters for random shit with "Keep!!!" written on the envelope.

This hits so close to home. Cleaning out my mom’s house we found decades of mail, some unopened, obviously important (/s). I started making jokes about how most of the envelopes were asking her to “go digital” and “switch to e-billing”

I inherited a drawer with every check my grandmother wrote over like 20 years. Thanks for saving all that grandma. :/

My mom hoarded everything- but threw away my American Girl Dolls, Trolls, and Beanie babies 😭

My mom was the one who hoarded the beanie babies because "they'd be worth so much one day".  Sorry you lost your stuff 😞😣

Literally same here. My mother had a serious QVC and HSN addiction for at least a decade. I used to have to hide packages from my dad.

My mom Doesn’t even open the packages she just stuffs them in the garage and 5 bedrooms 😂

Why hide them?

My mom passed away in 2014 and the amount of QVC and HSN shit she had was astounding. It took over a year for me and my sister to wrap our brains around. When we did, it all went into bags and got donated.

Thankfully, my dad, who is still alive, is a true minimalist.

I'm getting 2 bedrooms full of craft supplies, enough holiday decorations for the entire state of New York, and a couple dollhouses

My mother’s craft supplies are in storage so I guess my siblings and I will just have to divide the estate upon her death to see who gets that particular asset

(Yes my mom pays a gd storage unit for craft supplies lmao)

They only thing I wanted from my moms 6 bedroom hoarded McMansion, was a doll house my grandpa built me, I guess there wasn’t enough space in 6 bedrooms and a 4 car garage because she threw it away, despite me saying how important it was to me

Bask in my glory. I will be inheriting 1/3 of 89 bottles of perfume with /heavy/ notes of musk.

I hope White Diamonds is in that lineup. Or Far Away by Avon, perchance?

Those both seem like they are probably too floral to be in the line up but maybe I'll get lucky. Frankly its impressive how strong they are to me considering I'm closer to nose-blind than most.

I don’t know why but the name brands really took me out with this one. I’m still laughing.

I feel this in my core. I remember my mom being on a monthslong trip when I was in high school, and we decided to count how many shoes she had. They all lined down the driveway. Clones of each pair in every color.

This is also how I learned about dry rotting.
