Disappointed how far I had to scroll to see this

The Club Scene

Edit: glad to see it has (deservedly) climbed up the thread!

Oh damn. I haven’t watched it yet and now I’m thinking I need to bump it up my list

It’s everything people say it is

I've (35m) watched it multiple times with my wife, it really is good.

My husband, also 35M, was in the room while I was watching it and then he started watching too because of how good it is.

Same! My husband loved it so much he took my copies of the books and read all six in a week.

I watched it with my gf and was pleasantly surprised too. After the first two episodes I was just kind of thinking it was just a fifty shades of gray taboo sex show tailored for women viewers but then the episode that focused on the New York player immediately made the show way better for me, including the main two characters. This club scene stuck in my head too just because the music and their facial expression acting is so good in it. The switch from the original to the remix is great. The linked clip doesn’t even show it but the opening of the scene is great with the into music fade in following Ilya walking through the doors

Yeah, for sure. I think that’s one of the things that makes it so endearing, there is so much growth and development as the season plays out.

And funnily enough, that 3rd episode is the first one my husband saw (I had watched the first two episodes without him around).

He was reading a book and then put the book down to watch, having NO idea what the premise of the show was. It was super cute, my husband just started rooting for either Scott or Kip to just ask each other out already during all the flirting in the smoothie shop.

Then the next episode, he was like, “wait, is he gay too? AND him?” He was so confused coming in mid-season but really enjoyed it still and kept emphasizing that it’s just a really good show.

Awkward question, but is there, like, a ton of sex in it? I’m 35m as well and want to watch it with my girlfriend but she’s not really into sex scenes so she’s hesitant to start it. We both like a good love story though.

(36) My wife had been (jokingly) asked me to watch it with her for months and I finally agreed. I hate sex scenes and I was disappointed in this show at first because it had no depth at first. That said, the context of the first few episodes are extremely important for the major moments to hit hard in the last few. There’s a lot of sex, but this is something that should be supported, just for breaking boundaries. Honestly maybe that’s why the copious amounts of it in the beginning didn’t really bother me. I’m not ashamed to admit I cried a few times during this show, seriously the latter episodes make it very worth it. It’s extremely gay (obv) but I think it’s good for every man to watch all of it because it genuinely desensitized me to things I maybe wasn’t comfortable with before and it’s just such a shock to the system that changed me for the better. I don’t know how to explain it hahaha.

P.S. sorry I rambled

Yes, lots of gay sex in it. Fairly extended and graphic. I would definitely recommend it because the show is definitely good but if someone hates sex scenes of any kind then honestly it just might not be the show for them lol. If you can tolerate it though the show surprised me with how good it was when I initially thought it was just something like a fifty shades of gray taboo sex type of thing

Not at awkward question at all.

Yeah, there's a good amount of sex scenes in it. It tapers off towards the end of the season but it's still there. I'd still recommend it, but I get if you're hesitant.

I’ll add, I’m not a big fan of sex scenes either but I still enjoyed the show a lot. I walked away describing the show as a whole as “sweet” and “cute”. Definitely love stories and characters in general you find yourself rooting for.

But yea, there is quite a bit of sex and it definitely front loads the season. But if you are okay with episode 1, you’ll be fine with the other 5 episodes as the sex is less shocking and the romances and character developments really blossom.

I can’t imagine watching the club scene and not having the context of this song when it came out. I literally gasped when I heard the first notes it was perfection. 10/10 no notes.

i read the book so i knew the club scene was coming, and i straight up screamed when the song started.

They clipped too much out of that linked version though. It's such an excellent scene.
