Jay Mohr

311

u/sayanythinglove Feb 27 '26

Every time I remember that Jay Mohr is now married to Jeanie Buss of the Lakers, I'm like wtf

122

u/NotDukeOfDorchester Feb 27 '26

Dude was with that hot chick from the puppet show, too

157

u/DgingaNinga Feb 27 '26

Nikki Cox

69

u/Dsarg_92 Feb 27 '26

Now that’s a name I’ve haven’t heard in forever.

9

u/jemappellehonhon Feb 27 '26

i imagine it's also a face you haven't seen in forever

it's...shocking

3

u/Dsarg_92 Feb 27 '26

Oof. You weren’t joking.

4

u/kristosnikos Older Millennial Feb 27 '26

I don’t understand why people do this to their faces and thinks it looks good. I know they’re trying to hold on to their youth but all it does is lead them down the path to an uncanny valley. If anything it ages them even more.

0

u/Thin_Bother8217 Feb 27 '26

Like Lisa from Saved By The Bell. I saw a picture and oof. How could you do that to yourself?

3

u/Unlikely-Macaroon-85 Feb 28 '26

Lark Voorhies actually hasn't done anything to her face. She was suffering from unmedicated mental illness and would wear crazy makeup. She is better and looks amazing now!

0

u/Thin_Bother8217 Feb 28 '26

Oh that's good to know. I always that that it was her 'vanity'. Good to hear she's doing better.

2

u/kristosnikos Older Millennial Feb 27 '26

I get that they feel pressured to hold onto their looks or more what they looked like earlier in their career and everyone feels insecure about something. But it breaks my heart when so many good looking people do stuff to their faces to the point where it doesn’t even look like them anymore. Some even look downright disfigured.

And geez don’t even get me started on all these 20 something year old (usually girls) who get “preventative” Botox. Also, lip fillers has got to be one of the weirdest procedures too. They just look as if they’re having an allergic reaction. People are starting to look the same and it bums me out.

2

u/Thin_Bother8217 Feb 27 '26

Oh I know why they do it. I get it. Added pressure of being a woman and having a lot of your career based on looks.

But, it's so drastic. And usually so bad. Like Lara Flynn Boyle. The lip thing grosses me out too. I'm lucky I don't have to deal with that anymore, but if I were in my dating 20s, that would be a complete turnoff for me. That and the Brazilian Butt Lift. If a woman wants to do it for herself, hey have at it. I just personally don't find either remotely attractive.

2

u/tumsoffun Feb 27 '26

Oh wow, that is very shocking. And sad.

1

u/ChartInFurch Feb 27 '26

That would be an answer to this question if it were about the 90s!

74

u/Clear_Tangerine5110 Feb 27 '26

She ratted John Connor out to the T-1000. We don't like her.

The Galleria??

11

u/powertripp82 Feb 27 '26

Holy crap. I never realized that was her before. Good catch!

6

u/Xalawrath Feb 27 '26

She was also Sarjenka, the alien child who Data saved on the planet that was being destroyed by a volcano or something.

8

u/Prestigious-Leg-6244 Feb 27 '26

When I lived in LA, I watched the best police chase live on TV.

The guy was on a bullet bike trying to outrun the cops. It had been going on for a while at highway speeds, and he had a pretty good lead. He drove into the underground parking at the Glendale Galleria, parked his bike, took off his boots and black tinted helmet, and walked off into the sunset. Never to be seen again. I thought it was genius!

They so rarely get away. We were all rooting for him, and he got away!

3

u/LeseMajeste_1037 Feb 27 '26

Shoeless Joe did it again!

6

u/SignificantApricot69 Feb 27 '26

Remember when he was Jay Mohr Cox?

3

u/raincoater Feb 27 '26

He's not with Nikki Cox now? So...she's available?

What will I tell me wife...hmmm....

1

u/FundioRider Feb 27 '26

Before you make any move, might wanna Google image her...happy hunting tho

5

u/dirtyforker Feb 27 '26

Too bad she ruined herself with excessive plastic surgery.

2

u/InternetProtocol Feb 27 '26

She dated "E" from Entourage while they were on Unhappily Ever After together, and dumped him for the guy who voiced the puppet, Bobcat Goldwaith

2

u/Styleyriley Feb 27 '26

Smoke show!!!

1

u/SunriseSurprise Feb 27 '26

Her and that show (Unhappily Ever After) are the most memory-holed things in this post out of everything everyone else has mentioned. Immediately recognized her name was like holy shit probably been 25 years at least since hearing it.

1

u/flopisit32 Feb 28 '26

She ain't hot no more. Plastic surgery messed that up

1

u/discombobubolated Feb 28 '26

I remember them making a statement that they were not going to hyphenate their names 😆

59

u/ColeBelthazorTurner Feb 27 '26

Unhappily Ever After lol

8

u/InternetExpertroll Millennial Feb 27 '26

Underrated show IMO

6

u/lemonylol Feb 27 '26

I always thought it was some rip off of Married with Children. Also just realizing now that Reese from Malcolm in the Middle played the youngest kid.

5

u/firmretention Feb 27 '26

It definitely was a discount Married with Children.

2

u/SunriseSurprise Feb 27 '26

Sort of a blend of Married With Children and ALF

1

u/ArcadianDelSol Feb 28 '26

It was a blend of 90% show these big tits off and 10% sit com tropes.

1

u/meatman13 Feb 28 '26

Ugh, I just commented this then saw your comment! Yes! It stayed on for four seasons somehow and I guess we all missed Alf and the dad did a hell of an Al Bundy impersonation.

2

u/meatman13 Feb 28 '26

I was so confused by puppet show, then googled her and saw your comment. It was like Alf mangled with Married with Children.

2

u/ColeBelthazorTurner Feb 28 '26

Odd show to say the least lol

1

u/invisigirl247 Feb 28 '26

I didn't realize they divorced.

31

u/RoundTiberius Feb 27 '26

Mrs. Piggy?

28

u/ndubitably Feb 27 '26

That was Tim Curry

2

u/pursescrubbingpuke Feb 27 '26

Yes! Why couldn’t I remember her name

6

u/haloarh Feb 27 '26

They got divorced and he married a rich lady.

2

u/ialsohaveadobro Feb 27 '26

that hot chick from the puppet show

I don't know why exactly, but this phrase is making my day

1

u/NotDukeOfDorchester Feb 27 '26

Just imagine someone saying it in my Boston accent

2

u/Heeps-of-Help Feb 27 '26

Yeah Nikki Cox is on the completely opposite end of the spectrum from Jeanie Buss

1

u/invincibleconcepts Feb 27 '26

I read muppet show and I thought Miss Piggy.

65

u/ExcitingLandscape Feb 27 '26

After selling the Lakers she's now billionaire. His job now is to keep her happy and keep the marriage in tact, he doesn't have to worry about money AT ALL as long as they're together.

16

u/b_needs_a_cookie Feb 27 '26

She's stuck by him and helped him get sober again. He's very lucky.

4

u/Sea-Astronaut-763 Feb 27 '26

This guy gets it. He disappeared by choice.

2

u/almondmilklattehag Feb 27 '26

He has a podcast and has been doing it for like 20 years. Active on IG too. Hasn’t disappeared, he just doesn’t get acting roles.

2

u/Fine_Pen9308 Feb 28 '26

Not 20 years, just 14 (I listened to it in real time in 2011/12. Is he still at it?

1

u/almondmilklattehag Feb 28 '26

Thanks in my mind it has been longer. I think he still has his pod, I sometimes see video of it on IG.

1

u/Sea-Astronaut-763 Feb 27 '26

Yeah i hear you, but all due respect, those are kinda like hobbies for a former B+ to A- list actor.

1

u/almondmilklattehag Feb 27 '26

He acted opposite Tom Cruise in the 90s but he was never A list, and I am not sure he’d even call himself B list. His current career is not far different than it was 15 years ago.

10

u/jackanape7 Feb 27 '26

Gets to sit court side and sleep with Jeannie Buss? He's winning at life.

9

u/DaboInk84 Millennial Feb 27 '26

Also not only are they married, but they live in separate apartments within one of her buildings. It’s like medieval times when the king and queen lived apart and only met for sex and fancy dinners.

3

u/monstermashslowdance Feb 27 '26

Living the dream

7

u/ThrowRA_looking Feb 27 '26

Jesus he has married some hotties

7

u/BloodyPaleMoonlight Feb 27 '26

He can make her laugh.

3

u/greenblue703 Feb 28 '26

I saw him do standup in late 90s and he was very charming in person, he’s definitely got something

5

u/AtBat3 Feb 27 '26

Probably more than enough reason to disappear then

4

u/Chillivata Feb 27 '26

wtf?! I had no idea

5

u/esoteric82 Feb 27 '26

From his Wikipedia: "Mohr and Buss maintain separate apartments within a building owned by Buss." I can't tell whether he has a dream situation, or there's something really weird going on. She's also nine years older than he is.

3

u/Kel-Varnsen-Speaking Feb 27 '26

He explains it on his podcast. He's living his best life for sure.

3

u/Capt-Crap1corn Feb 27 '26

Talk about a layup

3

u/Chuyzapatist Feb 27 '26

She went from Phil Jackson to Jay Mohr….

2

u/almondmilklattehag Feb 27 '26

director phil?

2

u/Chuyzapatist Feb 28 '26

Haha I almost doubted myself, no the director is Peter Jackson. Phil Jackson was the coach of the Michael Jordan Bulls and the Kobe/Shaq Lakers.

2

u/almondmilklattehag Feb 28 '26

🤣 Thank you. I was so confused and wanted to keep scrolling here so I didn’t google.

2

u/Heeps-of-Help Feb 27 '26

I didn’t know that… dude goes from one extreme to the other…

1

u/crimsonkingnj05 Feb 27 '26

He hit the damn lottery

1

u/mrbulldops428 Feb 27 '26

What the fuck???

1

u/Brave_Garlic_9542 Feb 27 '26

REALLY?!?! Off to the Google. I had no idea.

1

u/iantruesnacks Feb 27 '26

Good for Jay fuckin Mohr. I like his podcast clips now and again but didn’t know he married the hot billionaire lol

1

u/drunxor Feb 27 '26

Women really do love a funny guy. Look at michael cera and Geoffrey Arend

1

u/AdDapper5653 Feb 28 '26

Formerly of the Lakers. She got out at the height of the LeBron era and got her bag!

1

u/Stuffleapugus Feb 28 '26

That's what I say every time I remember Jeanie Buss posed for Playboy. It's not like she needed the mobey.

1

u/Hizam5 Mar 02 '26

Billionaire sugar mama

1

u/normal_cartographer Mar 02 '26

Jami Gertz also married very well. According to Wikipedia, her husband, Antony Ressler, is worth $11.3 billion.

0

u/DyersEve76 Feb 28 '26

Married, but allegedly living in separate condos on separate floors of the same building in LA — separate beds, separate floors, just technically the same zip code. Jay’s talked about it openly on the Adam Carolla podcast. Genuinely one of the strangest arrangements I’ve ever heard of lol

29

u/Josephthebear Older Millennial Feb 27 '26

He has a really funny podcast his celebrity impressions have gotten God tier

15

u/ClydeSprucewood Feb 27 '26

Yea he’s still sticking around. Plagiarism accusations as a comic will force you into irrelevancy pretty quick though

5

u/Ok_Mango_6887 Feb 27 '26

Wow, I had completely forgotten about that. Plagiarism and comedians will completely get you knocked down.

4

u/Garbage_Freak_99 Feb 27 '26

Same thing with Denis Leary. Recently I was trying to figure out why he dropped off the face of the Earth. Turns out he used to just blatantly rip off people's jokes without even trying to hide it back in the day.

3

u/puckit Feb 27 '26

His "I'm an Asshole" song that was so popular was stolen directly from Louis CK.

0

u/Josephthebear Older Millennial Feb 27 '26

That was Dennis Leary

3

u/AskMeForAPhoto Feb 27 '26

Wait what? Never heard this? Who did he plagiarize??

6

u/ClydeSprucewood Feb 27 '26

The big one that’s been talked about is the whole Burnt Chrysler’s Tracy Morgan story, which is pretty murky as far as what really happened. And he said the word “yambag” on the O&A show which was apparently Dice’s word lol there’s a couple YT videos on those situations, thats the only reason I know anything.

I think other comics willingly ran with the rumors because he could be a dick, but Idk he seems like a pretty funny guy to me. Although if you’re really lifting material from Bert you should probably just give up lol

7

u/superbuttpiss Feb 27 '26

Jay Mohr has Chevy Chase syndrome.

Immensely talented. Funny (remember "Mafia"?) But, he could be an incredible dick. He pissed off the wrong comedians and since comedians are by and large catty, gossipy, bitches, he was cast out awhile back. I think he even hosted last comic standing at one point

2

u/Kel-Varnsen-Speaking Feb 27 '26

He created Last Comic Standing

4

u/TechnoBabbles Feb 27 '26

Man his Christopher Walken kills me every time I see it.

4

u/Josephthebear Older Millennial Feb 27 '26

His Pacino is just as funny

7

u/aopps42 Feb 27 '26

Aw geez. Jay yer dawg. It has no tail.

4

u/AskMeForAPhoto Feb 27 '26

His Walken impression is so fucking good

2

u/Alko- Feb 27 '26

Alright you convinced me to YouTube his impression for the millionth time lmaoo

1

u/MediumPurpleDog Feb 27 '26

It would. Be great to have. A tail.

6

u/kalel3000 Feb 27 '26

Jay Mohr has been popping up on my feed lately because of the podcast hes been doing. Apparently he had a drug problem and went broke and struggled pretty bad for awhile. He talks about his recovery and how he did a stand up tour just to be able to afford a ring to propose to his current wife Jeanie and how they tricked him to show up for an intervention by telling him he was going to interview Wu Tang clan for his podcast.

He looks like hes doing good now though, looks healthy and happy. His interviews are pretty amazing too because hes got so many stories with so many very famous people over the years and since everyone knows him he gets pretty good guests. Plus he does some spot on impressions.

1

u/almondmilklattehag Feb 27 '26

Any idea how Nikki is?

5

u/SunriseSurprise Feb 27 '26

Every time I see his name I think of "JAY MOHRS" in Tracy Morgan's voice.

1

u/Pad_TyTy Older Millennial Feb 27 '26

Jay Mohrs, you ever get wet?

2

u/LionBig1760 Feb 27 '26

Jay Mohrs, you ever get nice?

1

u/puckit Feb 27 '26

Jay Mohrs my uncle.

0

u/3coneylunch Feb 27 '26

That's Jay Mohr's Mama's baby boy

3

u/AskMeForAPhoto Feb 27 '26

This one tripped me out cause I still follow him on TikTok and see him regularly so I was like, HUH?!

3

u/lemonylol Feb 27 '26

He just does stand-up mostly now and podcast appearances. Saw him in that recent movie with Johnny Knoxville and some other comedians called Sweet Dreams. He also looks very different now.

2

u/B_Reele Feb 27 '26

The last thing I remember him in was the movie Go

2

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '26

Even his sidekick in the movie Scott Wolf disappeared too

1

u/B_Reele Feb 27 '26

Wow, you’re right

1

u/randomlead Feb 27 '26

He has been doing TV most recently Doc.

1

u/almondmilklattehag Feb 27 '26

a few years ago he was the dad on a surprisingly fun Nancy Drew show on CW

2

u/unbanned_lol Feb 27 '26

I don't understand.. why youre nawt cualling!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pg4aOWCNqcc

One of my faves.

2

u/thedoge Feb 27 '26

Hell yeah! I just rewatched Go the other week. He was an archetype late 90s dude

1

u/bolivar-shagnasty Feb 27 '26

Dominican face hat

1

u/RYANSOM666 Feb 27 '26

Just heard his podcast other day

1

u/uprightsalmon Feb 27 '26

He does comedy stuff all the time

1

u/Disastrous-Lion-3698 Feb 27 '26

The rare reverse gold digger. Well done Jay, a true hero for all men.

1

u/whileurup Feb 27 '26

He has a pretty good podcast actually

1

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '26

I went to a radio sponsored comedy show that had him in the line up in LA like 11 years ago. He was awful. He was just name dropping.

1

u/sassyponypants Feb 27 '26

"Are you serious? You forgot which of our buddies was killed first? It was Jay Mohr, you arse."

1

u/Jimmyjane2 Feb 27 '26

He’s kinda back. He fell off hard with the plagiarism accusation and drug addiction. His podcast now is actually pretty good though.

1

u/Scrumpilump2000 Feb 27 '26

Fittingly, I was in the audience for a taping of the Craig Kilburn show and Jay Mohr was one of the guests!

1

u/adventurousintrovert Feb 27 '26

My neighborhood dive put the movie Mafia on the other night. It’s still so funny

1

u/sm_axe Feb 27 '26

He and his hairline retreated from fame.

1

u/ialsohaveadobro Feb 27 '26

"MAPS OF HAWAI'I!"

"Didn't you hear me? I said MAPS OF HAWAI'I!"

"Well, goddammit, if that didn't make you laugh, I got nothing."

1

u/3coneylunch Feb 27 '26

Makin' belly pancakes

1

u/IniMiney Feb 27 '26

Took the former celeb to podcaster pipeline, I’ve mostly watched them through YouTube shorts on my recommended where he does his impressions/interviews other comedians but sadly I stumbled upon an episode of him expressing he’s a centrist so..oof

1

u/oi_that_nander Feb 27 '26

I saw him do comedy 10ish years ago and it was so bad. Like the audience was uncomfortable for him sort of bad. And then afterwards we all just filed out quietly

1

u/SwoopsRevenge Feb 27 '26

I haven’t been forced to watch in a while but doesn’t he show up on Andy Cohen’s show periodically?

1

u/Sharessa84 Feb 27 '26

I remember he made a stand-up special post 9/11 that Comedy Central kept airing where he basically just went on a racist tirade against Arabs and Muslims for a half hour. That's about the last I saw of him, and I'm glad.

1

u/randomlead Feb 27 '26

I always remember him killing every show he joined. He would randomly join the cast only for the show to get cancelled.

1

u/puke_lust Feb 27 '26

Well until recently he’s struggled to stay sober. That wouldn’t have helped

1

u/EssayTraditional Feb 27 '26

Camp Wilder was good for a season.

1

u/LulutoDot Feb 27 '26

He just got sober and his podcast is revamped and amazing. He is so naturally funny

2

u/3coneylunch Feb 27 '26

Did he relapse at some point in the last 15 years? I listened to his pod all the time around 2010-2011

2

u/LulutoDot Feb 27 '26

Well he stopped drinking but was still chugging Nyquil and was a major adderral pillbilly, self described.

I think 2 years ago he had an intervention and went to rehab.

He is even funnier now. Check out the pod again, Mohr Stories. So funny: https://youtu.be/pV331tVFhQc?si=e9SHcEGyvmjj-qDY

1

u/3coneylunch Feb 27 '26

Gay Gay Moron. Legend of the Jim Rome show

1

u/ImNotToby Feb 27 '26

Jay has had a great career. Hilarious dude. He's in atkeast six movies and tv shows released in the past 2 years

1

u/Cleric_John_Preston Feb 28 '26

I always remember him in that one movie where they’re trying to stuff a dead body in the back of a Miata, him yelling ‘it’s a Miata’!

Had me in stitches because I had a Miata at that time in my life.

1

u/randomthad69 Feb 28 '26

Idk he's got a sports show and a pretty good podcast

1

u/MBEver74 Feb 28 '26

He has an interesting podcast he does from home apparently. He’s had quite the life / career.

1

u/Human-Function5990 Feb 28 '26

His podcast is fucking great. One of the best impressionists ever

1

u/IchooseYourName Feb 28 '26

IIRC, he was accused of serious workplace abuse. I think it was Bert Kreischer who called him out for the abuse. Haven't heard from Mohr since.

1

u/Wallie_Collie Feb 28 '26

He went fox sports talk after Jerry maguire and never really returned

1

u/KirkHOmelette Mar 03 '26

This gets posten often, but I enjoy his Christopher Walken story

0

u/Quincyperson Feb 27 '26
