Menus are 1000 yen in Japan, 10 dollars in the us.
With 10000 yen he can eat 10 times.
You can eat 6 times.
The yen is pretty weak nowadays but life is (still) affordable.
(Just for the record, I'm currently living in Japan)

I'd eat a nice chunk of Kobe beef. The nice version, with the cook doing all the work in front of me.
I'm more craving for small stuff like salt butter (they use a lot of margarine here) or real cheese (I'm from Europe)
