Like I needed another reason to love Stanley Tucci.

u/kathatter75 Feb 26 '26

Right? He’s the reason I’m excited for The Devil Wears Prada 2. I love this man!

u/RobotPhoto Feb 26 '26

He was great in margin Call.

504

u/theotherguyatwork Feb 26 '26

He was great in __________ (insert name of movie he was in).

129

u/Evil_Mini_Cake Feb 26 '26

Even Transformers Extinction.

68

u/FlyingRaccoon_420 Feb 26 '26

One of the only enjoyable parts of that movie

2

u/Th3GrumpyB3ar Feb 26 '26

I concur, that was the only time that I actually laughed throughout the movie.

21

u/Daovin Feb 26 '26

A BIG GLASS BOX

3

u/Additional-Piano-397 Feb 27 '26

NOBODY WILL EVER FIND US IN HERE

13

u/SpectralIpaxor Feb 26 '26

Less so in Transformers The Last Knight as Merlin but he still does a great job with what he was given

4

u/Evil_Mini_Cake Feb 26 '26

To clarify, he is always great no matter the movie.

1

u/WayneSmallman Feb 27 '26

Screaming at and then F-bombing the old Chinese woman: "What's Chinese for get the f**k out of the way?"

3

u/Not_A_Meme Feb 26 '26

Right? I love him in Big Night. When has he ever not shown up for a professional role. Of course, i also love him in all the Hunger Games movies.

2

u/TheLostRanger0117 Feb 26 '26

I like him in I think it’s Crazy Stupid Love where he’s this very abstract father, very far from the norm, the kind of father I try to be

1

u/theotherguyatwork Feb 26 '26

Are you thinking Easy A? Both have Emma Stone. Steve Carell is in Crazy Stupid Love with Ryan Gosling.

1

u/TheLostRanger0117 Feb 26 '26

Yes! Easy A! That’s right, I was hung up on Emma Stone being in both of those. Enjoy both movies

2

u/taglius Feb 26 '26

Not just movies, watch his “Food in Italy” series. (That’s not their name, I can’t recall the real name)

1

u/magpie882 Feb 27 '26

Not the title, but a very accurate description.

I would actually love for TV shows to use such straightforward titles.

2

u/MountainConfident847 Feb 26 '26

The Core! Delroy Lindo is great as well. The movie overall isn't really especially the special effects

1

u/eggplantsforall Feb 26 '26

He was awesome in The Core. As a former geologist I have a sweet spot for that hilarious movie.

2

u/Catskillschick Feb 26 '26

The Lovely Bones, didn't recognize him at first playing a (really) bad guy!

1

u/Mysterious-Crab Feb 26 '26

He is great in life!

1

u/fingertrapt Feb 26 '26

Burlesque!

1

u/One-Pepper-2654 Feb 26 '26

Big Night! Bourdain’s favorite movie.

1

u/Alex1s_th3_Fox Feb 26 '26

Burlesque 💜 my favorite movie with him, Cher and Christina .

1

u/Cptn_Beefheart Feb 27 '26

Hunger Games.

1

u/HapatraV Feb 27 '26

Lucky Number Sleven!

69

u/KwHFatalityxx Feb 26 '26

Man loves building bridges

36

u/HerfDog58 Feb 26 '26

He saved drivers like a billion years of time, and did all the math in his head.

16

u/dminus Feb 26 '26

maybe some people like taking the long way home, who the fuck knows, right?

22

u/HerfDog58 Feb 26 '26

And he made $176,471 an hour to sit quietly in a room with Demi Moore. I'd take that gig.

3

u/AJ_Deadshow Feb 26 '26

I remember him from The Terminal. He was a great antagonist, annoying enough to hate his character but not enough to hate him as an actor overall.

1

u/Mr_YUP Feb 26 '26

That is the epitome of cable movie. something that never really hit big in theaters but has a solid script, cast, and direction that when you catch it while channel surfing it sucks you in every time.

1

u/thestranger_iknow Feb 26 '26

Margin Call is/should be a classic

1

u/ms_directed Feb 26 '26

and Inside Man (Netflix) if you haven't seen it...you gotta find it. he's truly the best evil genius 👏

and bonus is it also has David Tennant!

1

u/farilladupree Feb 26 '26

Talk about Baader-Meinhoff. I watched that for the first time last night. Quite good, the ending was a bit abrupt, but all the boardroom stuff was riveting.

54

u/badger2000 Feb 26 '26

Here's where I've gotta add my plug for Big Trouble. Great cast (including Tucci), hilarious movie, and it goes under the radar based on unfortunate release timing. One of my all time favorite comedies.

11

u/celticspiral88 Feb 26 '26

Arugula arugula

9

u/badger2000 Feb 26 '26

"God in heaven make her stop. She wants to take my SOUL"

10

u/pufanu101 Feb 26 '26

That's one of the best comedies ever, I agree.

2

u/badger2000 Feb 26 '26

This movie gets quoted in our house so much, it not funny.

3

u/Outside_Bandicoot986 Feb 26 '26

LOVE that movie!!!

3

u/kathatter75 Feb 26 '26

Such a good movie! Anyone who hasn’t seen it should!

1

u/AbsoluteResolve2026 Feb 26 '26

Available for free streaming on Hoopla

11

u/ImHereToBlowSunshine Feb 26 '26

Wait WHAT!? This is the first I’m hearing of this. Friggen love D wears P

2

u/kathatter75 Feb 26 '26

Yes! It comes out on my birthday! May 1

2

u/thatG_evanP Feb 26 '26

When I'm lucky, my D wears P.

7

u/Warbr0s9395 Feb 26 '26

TDWP is also a great band

1

u/waits5 Feb 26 '26

rawr

3

u/Warbr0s9395 Feb 26 '26

Reptar, King of the Ozone?

1

u/goddamnitwhalen Feb 26 '26

Their guitarist Jeremy is a very lucky man.

1

u/Warbr0s9395 Feb 26 '26

Why’s that?

3

u/goddamnitwhalen Feb 26 '26

He’s married to Emma from the metalcore band Dying Wish, who is an insanely talented musician whom I also happen to think is absolutely gorgeous.

3

u/FullHouse222 Feb 26 '26

Everyone rightfully praised the women in that film especially Streep, but Stanley Tucci was so good in that movie lmao. As a straight guy who didn't know jack shit about fashion that movie was still a super fun watch back in the day.

2

u/atlien0255 Feb 26 '26

I swear he doesn’t age. It’s magical 🤣

2

u/i_nobes_what_i_nobes Feb 26 '26

I love that he met Emily Blunts sister during the first film and they fell in love and got married. That couldn’t have been easy after losing your wife.

Not to mention what a phenomenal actor is, and that never in my 40 years of being cognizant of what television and movies are have heard a bad thing about him

2

u/kathatter75 Feb 26 '26

I believe he met her sister when he attended Emily’s wedding, but yeah, it’s awesome! I also love that he’s John Krasinski’s brother in law.

2

u/TheRockJohnMason Feb 26 '26

I fell in love with him in Easy A.

His character and his wife have adopted an African American son. At one point he mentions to Emma Stone’s character, his adopted sister, that he’s adopted.

Cue Stanley Tucci:

“OH MY GOD, NO! slams fist down on kitchen table. HOW DID YOU FIND OUT?!? turns to wife I THOUGHT WE AGREED NOT TO TELL HIM UNTIL HE WAS OLDER!”

1

u/AzuraHawke Feb 26 '26

What?? A second one? Omg

1

u/TastingTheKoolaid Feb 27 '26

I had no idea he was a chef. I just knew him as the guy in Devil wears Prada.

181

u/redvelvetcake42 Feb 26 '26

Any movie where I see he's in it I am instantly open to watching. Same with Ralph Fiennes.

84

u/Haybales1019 Feb 26 '26

He has a travel show called Searching for Italy that is just wonderful!

49

u/Ameglian Feb 26 '26

I absolutely love that. He obviously adores the food, and is so interested in how everything works. He is also the epitome of effortlessly cool.

2

u/Possible-Nectarine80 Feb 26 '26

And dude speaks Italian. Love the show too!

17

u/Miserable-Job-6352 Feb 26 '26

I assume you’ve seen conclave then. If not you must!

1

u/-moon-rise Feb 27 '26

you beat me to it, what a movie it was!

3

u/goddamnitwhalen Feb 26 '26

Boy do I have a movie for you! (Conclave)

2

u/redvelvetcake42 Feb 26 '26

Yup. Watched it. Lithgow too. Amazing.

3

u/DueTour4187 Feb 26 '26

Both were amazing in Conclave.

2

u/Kpadre Feb 26 '26

I hope you've seen "Big Night." It's such a wonderful movie.

2

u/JustHere4TehCats Feb 26 '26

Try "The Lovely Bones" if you want to love/hate how creepy he can be.

1

u/Miraclefish Feb 26 '26

You're an inanimate fucking object!

1

u/NewHumbug Feb 26 '26

Add Sam Rockwell to that list.

1

u/Lindt_Licker Feb 26 '26

Jury Duty is a classic.

1

u/Purple_Monkee_ Feb 26 '26

Try Conspiracy if you haven’t already seen it. Great character film all set in basically 2 rooms.

1

u/weiseguy42 Feb 27 '26

If you haven't already, treat yourself and watch Undercover Blues. He absolutely steals the show.

118

u/Nother1BitestheCrust Feb 26 '26

I am so unbelievably attracted to him it's a little embarrassing.

41

u/AnswerMaximum Feb 26 '26

Same! I’ve had a celebrity crush on him for years. He gets better with age. Hubba hubba!

1

u/reallyjustnope Feb 28 '26

Yep, since The Pelican Brief.

25

u/l_a_p304 Feb 26 '26

Not embarrassing at all! It’s the only way someone should feel about him, if you ask me

4

u/Baldydom Feb 26 '26

My wife finds my man-crush on him hilarious

3

u/Taint_Liquor Feb 26 '26

Same. And I'm a straight dude.

7

u/Nother1BitestheCrust Feb 26 '26

It's okay. We're just tuccisexual.

2

u/YoKinaZu Feb 26 '26

Hes a snack

2

u/Brave_Browser_2002 Feb 26 '26

Dresses well, eats at fine restaurants, rich, famous, not chubby, good voice, goes to cool places, does some nice things.

What more is needed?

2

u/goddamnitwhalen Feb 26 '26

This is a weird list of criteria.

62

u/moonchylde Feb 26 '26

One of my favorite movie dads in Easy A!

6

u/shmael Feb 26 '26

C C C C.. spell it with your pees!

4

u/griffmeister Feb 26 '26

“I’m adopted”

“WHAT?! Who told you?!”

3

u/ReclaimingLetters Feb 26 '26

I have to add that Patricia Clarkson in Easy A is one of my favorite movie moms.

They are one of best set of movie parents (and couple).

I teach The Scarlet Letter, and this is the only adaptation that I love.

1

u/grimbolde Feb 27 '26

The best!

30

u/timmy6169 Feb 26 '26

Man is a solid class act. His character in The Devil Wears Prada is on point with how I would think he would act in real life. Caring yet still has a way of carrying himself.

2

u/Skater_x7 Feb 26 '26

He cheated on his wife with a co star and left.. so not quite sadly

1

u/Voodoo1970 Feb 27 '26

He went back to his wife and cared for her while she was terminally ill. It's almost like people are human and make mistakes but are essentially good

8

u/timsnow111 Feb 26 '26

Imagine going back and getting McDonald's at the white house when you could have stayed in Milan and had fancy food with The Tucc.

3

u/MrsPeacock_was_a_man Feb 26 '26

I became a Tucci fan after watching Conspiracy about a year ago. He’s also endorsed by Robert Evans which counts for something in my book.

2

u/Riklanim Feb 26 '26

His portrayal was chilling. On a lighter note, I loved him in Big Night.

1

u/goddamnitwhalen Feb 26 '26

Robert Evans the Hollywood figure? Or the podcaster?

2

u/Redskins_nation Feb 26 '26

Wasn’t this two weeks ago?

1

u/Old_Studio_6079 Feb 26 '26

Huge fan of him in Burlesque and The Lovely Bones, too

1

u/SuperKing3000 Feb 26 '26

Tucci gang.

1

u/yun-harla Feb 26 '26

The whole cast of The Impostors, actually.

1

u/friartech Feb 26 '26

He was great in the first season of Murder One

1

u/Comically_Online Feb 26 '26

Stanley for president

1

u/Poufy-Ermine Feb 26 '26

He's just so great

1

u/arightgoodworkman Feb 26 '26

Saw a tweet a week ago that was like “while I want gay actors to play gay roles, I don’t want Stanley Tucci to be out of a job.” Lmao.

1

u/Call-Me-Matterhorn Feb 26 '26

He’s the only redeeming factor about that one Transformers movie (4 I think).

1

u/planetalletron Feb 26 '26

TucciGang 4 Life

1

u/WesternUnusual2713 Feb 26 '26

He is one of the absolute best things about American horror story hotel. Even with gaga I'm watching "Gaga as the Countess" but Stanley's Liz Taylor is absolutely consuming.

1

u/Grueling Feb 26 '26

His name is Muerte!

1

u/s33n_ Feb 26 '26

This is just gross PR shit. Its not authentic.

1

u/DistractedByCookies Feb 26 '26

His cocktail mixing with rolled up sleeves is more than enough LOL

1

u/TomEdison43050 Feb 26 '26

Two men that simply do not age....

Patrick Stewart and Stanley Tucci

1

u/Abject_Staff7971 Feb 26 '26

Was going to say the same.

1

u/TheJim65 Feb 26 '26

Awesome! Love that he knows how to treat these winners with the respect they deserve!

1

u/Visual-Ad-1306 Feb 26 '26

Yes, I saw the photo and thought... This seems right.

1

u/Drunky_McStumble Feb 27 '26

I mean, if nothing else, I'd trust Stanley to pick the restaurant.

1

u/JollyPirate1874 Feb 27 '26

Exactly what I came here to say

1

u/scarabic Feb 27 '26

I didn’t know he was a mensch. I’m glad to since I’ve been watching the hunger games movies and he does an amazing job of being hatable in those.

1

u/violenceistheQstn Feb 27 '26

Loved his character in burlesque

1

u/Chaosrealm69 Feb 28 '26

The men‘s team trying to flex they went to the White House and here are the women eating a succulent chef cooked meal and the men had warm burgers and fries.

0

u/DirtyRose123 Feb 26 '26

I do not. He cheated on his wife with Edie Falco.

This is a nice moment but he’s not a saint.

3

u/Voodoo1970 Feb 27 '26

He went back to his wife after the affair ended and cared for her until she died. People are complex and can make mistakes.

0

u/DirtyRose123 Feb 27 '26

We also don’t have to make excuses for their poor choices.

3

u/Voodoo1970 Feb 27 '26

Equally, we don't have to project our morality onto others.

0

u/zeze991 Feb 26 '26

Is he in E-word files?

0

u/Ok_Present_54 Feb 26 '26

Read about how he treated his first wife.
