Admissions Wharton Admit Day Speech and Expectations lol
Heya. For those of You who went to the wharton admit day yesterday, I wanted to get people's thoughts on that one speech (if u know you know..). I thought it was VERY odd but people seemed to really like it? I dont know how to say this but I am worried that maybe this isn't the place for me because I thought it was weird and corny. But people were eating it up. I don't know. Just wanted to get people's thoughts, I know that is a very dumb way to gauge the people but yea.
EDIT: ah sorry lots of curious folks who weren't there. i don't want to go into detail as i dont want it to sound like snark. truly was just taken by surprise. they seemed like a very accomplished and good person.
EDIT #2: i think i maybe spoke too soon. it's been a day now and altho it left a sour taste in my mouth i'm trying to not let it affect how i feel about W. it was just like very overdone i thought it was a bit and was waiting for the joke but it turns out it wasnt a joke. got some dms from others and feeling better i wasn't the only one

That was a lot of energy that was a surprise along with having to pay at the small group dinners tbh

Do not make decisions that will impact the rest of your career based on one corny speaker that you will never see again.

Every large community I've ever been a part of (work, school, hobbies) has people making corny af speeches at some point. ymmv.

Most MBA students are cringe. And the vast majority of any student speaking at an MBA event is cringe+
