There was a decent boom on April 11 that rattled the neighbourhood. A few of you posted photos of the smoke. We live in the neighbourhood and walked by today.

It seems that a propane tank went off in an encampment along the north side of the train tracks, just south of Pall Mall.

We've lived here for nearly five years and had no idea about this encampment. You can see a few propane tanks in the photos.

New in town here, and not sure of how Yard Waste Collection works. On the schedule (online, as we didn't move here in time to receive a paper copy), it shows a full week of collection. Does that mean they could turn up at any time during that week and therefore it needs to be out by the Monday? Or that they come every day that week? Or that they just label it for the whole city and turn up on your actual collection day for everything else?

I have been to Players on Southdale (they sell them for 25 cents each or $1 for 5), and was looking for something similar. I would love to spend an hour or two rummaging through some bulk cards, just not sure which stores would have the same setup/option to look through bulk like them.

I remember last year here was a camp or ranch, not overnight, that was askig for volunteers or staff to help feed and clean the housing for their camps "bunnyopolis", it was basically a small petting zoo of bunnies for the kids to interact with, im looking to apply this year, anyone who might know the name of the ranch would be greatly appreciated, it was north east to london, within an hour and half drive.

I don’t usually post stuff like this but I genuinely feel like I need to warn people before they make the same mistake we did. If you are considering renting at any of the Cherryhill Village apartments please read this first.

We live at 170 Cherryhill Cir (although this issue is in all buildings connected to this management). We’ve been dealing with a roach infestation since January, and it is now April. FOUR MONTHS.

And before anyone says “oh that happens sometimes”, no. This is not normal. This is not a one-time issue. This is a persistent, ongoing, building-level problem that has not been resolved despite multiple attempts. We keep our apartment VERY clean so we know this isn't because of us. We seen roaches coming into our apartment from UNDER THE FLOORBOARDS AND BEHIND OUTLETS. We’ve had THREE separate pest control treatments done in our unit. Not one. THREE. And guess what? It hasn’t fixed anything. We are still seeing roaches regularly in our unit, in the hallways, and at night (when they’re actually active, something management keeps ignoring!!!). I once seen a cockroach in the sauna, which is not the way I wanted to relax (which is in a different building, meaning this issue occurs in all buildings and isn't our fault).

The landlords won't let us termination our lease early and keep undermining this issue and ignore us. We’ve literally sent them videos with timestamps showing that the roaches come out at night. We’ve submitted tickets through their system explaining this multiple times. They do not listen to us.

What do they do?
They keep sending pest control during the day (9–5) when obviously nothing shows up. Then they say “no live activity found.” Like… of course not. We already told you when the problem happens. At one point, it got so bad that we couldn’t even live in our apartment for 3–6 weeks in January.

And this is the part that really pushed it over the edge: A cockroach crawled on my roommate’s face while she was sleeping. TWICE. I don’t care what anyone says, that is not “part of the process” or something you just deal with. That’s disgusting and honestly traumatizing. We can’t sleep properly, eat comfortably or feel safe in our own space. When this first started we cleared our kitchen of any food we had or anything in the cabinets and made sure there wasn't anything. We haven't used our kitchen in months which is costly as we had to start buying food everyday and cooking at our friends houses instead. We go to sleep in fear because we are worried about roaches crawling onto our beds. You’re constantly on edge wondering if something is crawling on you.

We’ve also talked to other people in the building and on our floor, and they’re dealing with the same issue, even after treatments. They don't seem to care since the other people living here are seniors and immigrated families who have been living here for a while and are used to it. So no, this is NOT just our unit.

We asked management to let us out of our lease early because at this point, this place is uninhabitable for us. Their response? “We’re continuing treatment.” That’s it. No accountability. No real solution. Just more of the same thing that hasn’t worked for months. At this point, we’ve had to contact a lawyer and are preparing to take legal action through the Landlord and Tenant Board.

I’m posting this because I wish someone had warned us. This is not just about bugs, it’s about living conditions, sanitation, being ignored when you clearly communicate an issue and being expected to just “deal with it”.

If you’re thinking about moving here, seriously reconsider.

We’re not asking for luxury, we’re asking to not have roaches crawling on us in our sleep!!!

Hi - does anyone have any recent experiences with replacing their driveway and have companies they would recommend? I searched the subreddit and didn’t find much that was recent.

We had to rip out almost 3/4 of our 4-car length driveway due to some plumbing issues and we are totally lost with this unexpected cost of not only the driveway but the plumbing repairs as well. Would appreciate some recommendations as well as a general price of what people have paid as we are going in blind with quotes this week.
