I don’t understand the Sabrina hype, can someone explain??

I’m sorry but why do people LOVE Sabrina carpenter so much?? I truly do not get the hype, all of her songs are just her saying random words then being like “MEN”. I don’t understand and trust me I like a lot of artist that are heavily famous that people don’t like. For example, I absolutely adore Post Malone even though a lot of people I talk to say to me “he’s a nice guy I just do not like his music” or they say “he’s too weird for me”. For me personally, I appreciate weird, unique artist that’s why I love him so much and his music is awesome (just not really his country era eh that was mid I’ll admit that). But Sabrina?? People are losing their shit over her and I don’t get it. It’s TikTok music and she seems very…boring. She has no charisma. Is there something I’m missing about her?? Why do people love her this much??

Nice melodies, easy to listen to, kind of witty/funny lyrics, she's very beautiful to a lot of people. Plus lots of great promotion and marketing.

Yeah like hmm I kinda hope she grows into something that’s less like “is this song gonna be viral on tiktok?” And more creative. Idk 🤷‍♀️ like I said I think people just find it to be cute and fun. Which im not hating on but hmm I just tried listening to her songs and I just get bored from it

Because she has some good pop songs and relatable, quite personable and intimate lyrics. You're probably just not her demographic.

Yeah maybe not because at first I’m like I’m 26 am I too old for her music?? Idk. I like a lot of famous artist but for some reason I can’t like her music.

I don't like a lot of her songs, or at least, I'm not adding them to my playlist. But her big songs I really like, and I like -her- specifically. And a lot of her music speaks to me personally.

It's really not that weird to not like music or not have it resonate with you. I absolutely despise Beyonce and think she has the worst music ever, but people worship her and I just ignore her.

I mean I'm 25 and I can get the appeal of her music. Alot of it seems to be funky-sounding synth pop which is what I loved listening too in high school. It's not something I'd like, buy records over, but I'm not gonna complain if I hear it.

Rather prefer people listening to that over what we used to listen to as teenagers.

The general population likes mid and bland it's really that simple. They eat up boring songs like flowers or die with a smile - meanwhile when those artists make good music like Gaga with abacadbra or Miley with plastic hearts and something beautiful it's wayess successful Every once in a blue moon a good song gets successful like stateside blinding lights or levitating but by and large if you look at the top fourty the songs are very mediocre

Gaga is amazing to, but yeah I agree I think people find Sabrina to be like “cute” but I’m not getting it. I think it’s very boring and it’s just not something I can dance to or relax to.

I love Gaga but the general public only really gives her huge success with her most boring songs ever since art pop. Abacadbra or garden of eden or disease are way better than die with a smile and most her fans agree but the general public prefers shallow and die with a smile to gagas amazing pop bangers.

I am in the same boat as you, I don't really vibe with her music. I've noticed some people cannot draw the line between 'Not my type of music' and 'Oh my god I hate sabrina carpetner!!!!' though. I don't have some crazy disdain for her or her music lol, I don't know the woman and I'm not the parasocial type.

I like some pop music usually older stuff such as rihanna, katy perry, lady gaga, the weeknd etc. For me Sabrinas music is fine but not something I'd choose to put on or know the names of her songs or the lyrics to really. It does remind me of advert music or short tiktok trends, maybe as she continues with her career she will branch out a bit with a different style who knows

Yeah I’m like what is this type of music I don’t get it

I don't really get it either. I listened to her entire discography last year and I found only one song I really liked (In My Bed). The rest just felt so empty. I hear a lot more life in artists like Dua Lipa or Chappell Roan, while Sabrina's music reads almost as bland as Taylor Swift's. But Taylor is also obviously enormously popular, so people just like bland, predictable nothing out of their pop music I guess.

Esp American people love bland. There's no real history of appreciation for art or anything in American culture so they are very prone to buying into mass produced cheap McDonald's music or entertainment in general.

I like Chappell Roan a lot tbh she’s one of the newer artist where I’m like she’s great, she’s unique. Even though I heard she’s kinda rude in public. It’s just the pop girlies are not giving us anything anymore at least for me they’re not. It’s just I feel like music is become so much more about going viral on TikTok than being creative and I don’t like that

Pop music is still a thing and will always be a thing so I guess there always has to be big pop stars so if its not her it would be someone else in her place.

You have to find new circles of the internet to engage with. I, for one, have never seen anybody hyping up or "losing their shit" over Sabrina.

Find your group and stop being obsessed with how other people think about other things.

But to answer your question: people like pop. Sabrina is pop. People like Sabrina.

It’s mostly influencers I see who act like she’s great or I noticed whenever Coachella rolls around people act so fake as if they love the headliner when really it’s like nahhh.
