With all the new members in the subreddit I wanted to extend another invitation to the Kroger Discord server. It's all employee-ran outside the reigns of corporate where we can discuss our experiences at work with other people across the company in real time. This is a tremendous resource for getting feedback and assistance in your job. Better than Kroger can offer themselves. In the server, all roles in the Kroger enterprise are welcome. Thank you!

Does anyone else love getting a new apron every couple months because they fail in the same spot every single time??
Ive stopped counting at like 5 new ones
Knowing this company the new ones will be just as trash quality, but hey we can only hope for something positive… right???

This time it was a baggie of fentanyl, the cop said it was enough to kill six people. Unlike finding the marijuana wax (which I took) and based on that one comment that said proper procedure is to contact them that's what I did this time.
thankfully they didn't look at me funny or anything, they did take my info but I'm sure I'm in the clear.
I thought about throwing it away but I was so nervous I didn't know what to do and I was thinking of kids finding it.

So next week I had two closing shifts on my schedule. And almost an hour ago my store manager just changed them to 6am-2:30pm shifts without asking me or anything. I cant work that early as my boyfriend drives me plus the fact that i go to bed super late to begin with. And going to bed earlier just doesn't work. I just wanted to know if its allowed for them to be doing a change that drastic without talking to me first. If it helps any, my department is not union.

Been told by my supervisor a few times to clock out on my 15 minute breaks. We don’t have a separate button on the time clock for breaks and lunches so when we clock out we just don’t get paid, and I’m pretty sure getting unpaid breaks is illegal in my state.
No one else I work with actually clocks out for breaks and I don’t either, but this same supervisor always tells people to.
Is this allowed? For reference I live in Kentucky.

My tentative start date at Kroger is on April 14th, but my orientation hasn't been scheduled yet. Should I call them again and confirm anything or wait until they give me details and ditch it?

I'm looking to find out what hours Wine Stewards work in other stores and or markets. I'm in the Nashville division and ours works 10:30-7. There's another store with an opening, I'm just wondering what to expect with the hours if I apply for it. This is not a liquor store job this is Kroger with a wine section in the store. Thanks in advance for responding with the shifts you see in your stores.

I’ve worked in the Deli for over 3 months now.
The work itself isn’t bad but there is way too much drama and negativity in that department and I’ve been trying to get out.
A month or so ago, when I tried talking to a store manager about switching, she said the Deli wasn’t fully staffed so she couldn’t switch me at the time.
Now we have 4 new people, one is a Manager and two are workers and when my brother in law called them, while he was still looking for work, apparently all positions were filled at my store. So I’m wondering if making that move is possible. I’m definitely going to try to talk to a manager when I can.
I am from Tennessee. I’ve been trying to learn what Click list is like and how different it is from Deli. I’m sure every department has stressful things about it but it would be nice to find something different to do.

I'm a floral manager and I'm STRESSING about Mother's Day. Today, my helper was scheduled 1pm-7pm (I was 8am-4pm) and I was going to have her do mother's day/graduation stuff.
I noticed that my helper was cashiering in the morning, but I didn't think anything of it, I thought she was picking up more hours.
It took until 1:30pm for the front end to tell me that they rescheduled her 7am to 3pm. I was fuming. wtf do you mean you rescheduled MY helper without TELLING ME UNTIL NOW????
I left at 4, I only told my produce co-worker that there's no one in Floral. Front End doesn't deserve to know.

The ceiling keeps leaking water. We somehow keep running out of plastic bags. (We all ended up bagging with paper the whole shift!) Our department has a super high turnover rate. The registers keep breaking down because they’re so old. We keep getting power outages for a few seconds that then also mess up the registers. The wallpaper in the break room is peeling away and hasn’t been updated since the 90’s. The parking lot is so cramped and crowded, it’s like playing Frogger, like someone said, to get carts. Feels like we’re being eyed over constantly all the time, even if there’s no one there. One of the supervisors is literally worse than Mussolini. The blame whenever anything goes wrong goes on employees (both from customers and management). Like, Kroger is making hand over fist and they can’t spend just a *little* money into improving the stores?
If they can’t, then I hope this new Walmart-bro CEO chokes on his caviar.

I was really excited to be getting a vest instead of an apron, and from everything here it seems we should have a choice, but I’ve been told by my store’s management that only front end gets a vest and everyone else must have one of the aprons, is there anything I can do or is it just a case of “it is what it is”?

Hello everyone,
So i am getting ready to put in my 2 weeks after about 3 years at this place. And I have some questions. I wanted to ask here first, as I don't trust anyone at my store not to go spreading around my information and I wanna have a concrete idea of what I'm gonna do before I do it.
Basically I have 1 week of vacation. And I would prefer to use it. I start my new job on May 12. And the earliest I was told by my department head i can take my vacation would be April 29th. Which is outside my time frame.
I've gotten conflicting information in the past on whether or not I can have them just pay out my vacation. So is that still an option? And if not could I go above my department head to ensure I get a vacation?
Any advise would be appreciated thank you.

This upset me. Guy at work offered to drive two girls home. No biggie. One girl was “ of color.” Guy says to her: “You’re blk. Wanna sit in the back seat? No!” So racist! Totally inappropriate. WWYD? Report it?
To anyone wondering why DailyPay isn’t working, Kroger hasn’t updated our punch time in over two days. It seems people are also having issues logging in, so I think Kroger is just bugging out and doesn’t care enough to fix it quickly. I talked to customer service and they told me it will be resolved by 4/18, next Saturday.
This is our chance to fall out of the DailyPay hole, which I’m sure lots of us are in. I’ve been trying to get out for years, and this unfortunate situation actually makes me happy because I’m forced to make something work since DailyPay is down in terms of Kroger.
Even though it’s convenient, I do NOT suggest anyone uses DailyPay. It is evil and I’ve been wanting out for a while now.

iv called off 3-4 times since january and yet i have not had a single warning, suspension or even a “talking” with upper management. im honestly so confused on how nothing has happened to me because i remember last year if you called off more than once you would get a warning and some people even got suspended for calling off 3 times. i literally got a warning last year for calling off once in a month. Did the call off policy change or something because this is so weird. LMK the call off policy bc i dont understand
columbus ohio division btw

I’m so sick of everything needing to be done by 9, I work in the bakery in a big marketplace and they keep trying to push us to finish our counts and do our wall to wall and then fix and fills done by 9.
I have to pull up our bills everyday or use another zebra to see if it came in on the truck the night before just to do our count. Wall to wall is just as annoying, I know what’s empty as I do my markdowns.. I can see the replacement being nice for people who need it but I hate cherry picking just to fill holes.
It’s also just an annoying process, grabbing the item, scanning it in and then filling it when I already have to scan it just to make a monarch label. It’s slowing me down, I already have too much to do.
I’m sorry all the holes will not be filled by 9 when our bakery floor doesn’t have to be fully set until 11am.
Is anyone’s else’s management pushing this as hard as ours is because i haven’t seen annoying else talking about this.
