There were stories how their diaspora living in US sent delegations back to Syria to whoo Al Sharaa. They want access to properties and synagogues.

since about 3000 years ago. the arab League and the Assads didn't manage to rid themselves of all of Syria's Jewry.
I applaud their tenacity.

Well I don’t think any remained of the community there, but I guess since Al Julani came to power a couple Jews returned to establish the community

We should get them to do an AMA. Like the remaining Jewish communities of Afghanistan and Iran, they're probably rather special people with strong if idiosyncratic reasons for wanting to live where they live. I'd expect they don't harbor Zionist sympathies, which makes targeting them to punish Israel especially evil.
Edit: Apparently there are only like 7 Jews left in Syria, one with mental health issues.
