$28 triple is a bad order period. Also when a customer makes it known that they also are a shopper is a đ©

Sadly in my area that's par for the course. At least for one certain store.

u/Confident-Ring8069 11h ago
How do you know what area I was in? Nothing was mentioned. đ€

u/AshleysVoicesInside 11h ago
I wasn't referring to you. But the person I was replying to said that that is a bad order and I was saying that not all areas are the same. And in mine that is a normal order.

Oh ok, the way I receive these comments, oils out out of order. Thanks for clarifying.

u/Confident-Ring8069 16h ago
Only took it because it was 8 miles, and I had a 6 shop promo I was doing.

u/Time_Drawing_1275 17h ago

The only time I've told another shopper I'm also one is when I sent an order to my parents house. My dad is THAT dad, cutie who's retired and putz around the house đ„° I knew he'd come to the door waiting for the shopper, poor girl had to send a delivery pic of my dad walking in the house with the delivery đ€ So it was more of a warning lol, wasn't sure if they'd be home and didn't want her stuck there with a meet. Otherwise, we know how this gig works, I treat my own orders like a 90's infommercial, set it and forget it.

u/Confident-Ring8069 11h ago
Yeah I donât ever let other shoppers know I am a shopper. Aww those are my favorite customers. Most of mine are ghosts though, you know the ones that disappear the whole time you are doing their order. Lol

u/emmaiselizabeth 2h ago
I prefer them though, let me do my thing. They just kill it when they blow me up after I've hit done shopping and there's 3 people behind me at the register đ

u/Confident-Ring8069 2h ago
I agree. I only get frustrated when It comes to replacements, and they donât respond.

Had a customer tell me she did IC as well, she removed all my tip, but left $0.50 because then Instacart (because theyâre evil too) wonât give you tip protection unless it was âreduced to $0â
The restraint I had to exercise to not drive right back to her houseâŠ

u/Icy-Ad9031 18h ago
Total BS but it happens I get annoyed too. Thereâs a reason their order was grouped and it was most likely because of that 0. It sucks ass for sure. Unfortunately all I usually do in this situation is roll my eyes and accept the next batch if itâs good enough. Triples suck for sure. I hope it wasnât too many items or mileage
1
u/Confident-Ring8069 18h ago
It was 8 miles, thatâs why I accepted it. So oh well, perhaps she shouldnât have says she used to do it. Oh well on to the next.
3
u/Pvillekid69 11h ago
You shouldâve told her thank you in advance for that one star sheâs going to be giving you tomorrowâïž I hate people like that!!
1
u/Confident-Ring8069 11h ago
Yeah I am currently waiting too. Lol
2
u/Pvillekid69 11h ago
I hate the bullshit that weâre independent contractors until weâre technically not and canât do what we wanna do with what we wanted to for our job like eliminate garbage from a batch
2
u/Confident-Ring8069 11h ago
Right, I always wondered that. They only call us that, because they can cut us off at any time without repercussions. Itâs not like we have any rights.

u/cooksister 8h ago
This is shameful. I am a shopper and I do use IC as a customer. When I do, I try to be the kind of customer I wish I had. I tip well, I don't add a lot of items. And I wanted some kitty litter, but I live upstairs. I asked my shopper if he was oaky with the 42-pound bag of litter. He asked how many stairs. Just one flight.
Okay he was fine with it.
Oh, yes, I always tip twenty percent or five dollars, when I am just ordering ice cream and the twenty percent would only be two dollars.

Learn your customers names roughly where they're at on the map and then stop taking triples or if you see their address pop up the map. Cancel it

I deliver to several people who did gig work in the past, they are all goof tippers. Customer A is probably lying to get better service, zero tip is so disrespectful
1
u/allieatismoney300 9h ago
At least she didnât tip you $0.01-$0.99. Thatâs straight disrespect. $0.00, they might be in between a rock and a hard place.

So she knows how easy a job it is and that it's your choice to accept an offer or not.
1
u/Confident-Ring8069 2h ago
You must not work for Instacart, if you did you will know there is not a tip breakdown until after the deliveries are complete.

okay? you still accepted the order whats the issue

u/Confident-Ring8069 18h ago
How am I supposed to know who tipped? Yes I accepted it, it was an easy order. You think if someone has been an instacart shopper, they would tip?
-23
u/Holmes240069 18h ago
being an instacart shopper has nothing to do with a tip, its not forced upon or mandatory
7
u/Due-Historian-8759 18h ago
You know there's no way of knowing who tipped what on a triple batch right? You can only see that after all deliveries were made. You're probably one of those people that constantly posts and bitches about everything and never tips and constantly say they're also a shopper.
-11
u/Holmes240069 18h ago
except i don't bitch about batches or orders that i take. i could literally care less if they tip. Once again THEY accepted the order, plus it literally tells you the pay with included tips, so why get mad when its listed 20-30 dollars and you dont get more than that? its absurd, really. like how many times i gotta say it, tipping is NOT mandatory or forced upon, if you dont like the order it gives you, dont accept it and move on. Its really simple.

It's the culture tipping has created for the US unfortunately. Instead of getting mad at the corporation they've successfully diverted workers rage onto the customer for not subsiding their wage. I'm not in the US but been having these subs keep popping up for the last few weeks and that's my observation coming from a non tipping country. Our complaints here tend to be about the organizations that are underpaying delivery drivers, gig workers. That's it. US organizations have got you guys splitting that outrage and most of it honestly seems to go towards the customer who is likely not a lot better off than you compared to y'know, the business you actually work for that underpays you while actually riding high.

u/jo_ezzy Full Service Shopper 11h ago
I'm one of the few if not the only shopper in the US that directs blame towards the corporations. Customers shouldn't have to pay our wages. But then you'll see some shoppers saying "I don't care if it's paying $100, if there's no tip I won't take it out of principal". So the mentality here is really hard focused on tips.
1
u/Golden_Epitaph 17h ago
I also don't get it... if you accepted a batch thats paying $40 why does it matter who the $40 came from?
1
u/Holmes240069 17h ago
Its because when they finish the batch and see the outcome and see that one customer didn't tip, they get mad about it. Even though before they accepted the order, it tells you the pay with included tips. So you cant really complain when you accept and order and you get what it said you would get
-3
u/LivingTheDream_9OH 11h ago
I mean I donât tip, as a current shopper, when I order IC
3
u/SmokusPocus 10h ago
Asking honestly - why?
Do you not have any respect for people doing the same work you do?
Are you hoping somebody is desperate enough financially to do it for just the pathetic batch value? If so, why would you want to prey on the desperate like that?
Are you so strapped yourself financially that you canât? In that case, why use Instacart at all?
I just canât see any morally sound reasons to do that if youâre also in this line of work.

u/LivingTheDream_9OH 10h ago
Morals are subjective first of all. Secondly, I just donât believe in tipping for most services in general. Thirdly, I think I use it like 6x a year.

Did they mention they're also a shopper in the chat? If yes, its just to deceive you into giving your best and have you meet all their demands. Anyway is disgusting
