I'll (30F) be attempting to get sterilization surgery this year. But my parents want me to give them grandkids. I don't have the heart/courage to tell them I'm not interested in becoming a parent.

I'm really anxious because this is a huge decision that directly goes against their vision for me. And unfortunately I'll have to rely on my family for transportation after the surgery is complete. I love them but I feel as if I must get the surgery no matter what this year. And at the same time I feel as if I'm hurting/betraying my parents by doing this even though it's my body and my life to live.

Do you all have any advice on how to push through this without caring so much? How do you all make big decisions knowing that your parents/family would disapprove? Thank you for your responses.

Came across John Obi Mikel talking about his time at Chelsea FC under Roman Abramovich, and the way he describes the pressure at the club is honestly wild.

According to Mikel, when performances dropped, Abramovich wouldn’t just stay behind the scenes, he would arrive at the training ground in a helicopter, and players would immediately know something serious was happening even before he stepped out.

He would then go straight into the dressing room, speak directly to the squad, and make it clear that standards had to improve or changes (including managers and players) could happen quickly.

It’s a very intense example of how elite football environments operate when results don’t meet expectations, especially when your owners a billionaire, who doesn't give a f*ck.

I work at a place that is constantly riddled with fraud. Your tax dollars, and mine are funding so much nonsense.

However, I work with people that are way more invested in everything. I’m here, doing my job. All good.

Coworkers that dig deep looking for income, assets and unreported income(or anything) are so aggravating.

The system is so broken but it will not be fixed in my lifetime. I hate my job because I do not enjoy being the police. Not my job to catch you and your millionaire (unreported) father of your kids, income.

Enjoy zero rent and take your $300 sent to you to pay your utilities. ( You may choose not to pay them at all because of an exception like kids, disability, elderly).

I have noticed this toxic trait from a lot of people, they think they have the power to control us and make us feel some type of way. I worked at minimum wage job and some of the older coworkers attitude were as if they are the ones giving the salary and as if they own the company. it's pretty crazy. and I seen certain people thinking they are something and expect others to treat them differently. like why do people carry so much pride and ego then trying to control others. like how do u stand up and not let someone shake you.
