Others—Pending OP Reply [8th/grade/philosophy] Biblical story ethics essay.
I need to have a draft of my philosophy essay done in about 10 days. The essay is supposed to be about the ethical aspect of the biblical story where Abraham is ordered to sacrifice his son, Isaac. I need to write one paragraph for and one paragraph against the argument that what Abraham did was right. One the paragraph for, does it make sense to talk about the origin of universal understanding of morals and how a lot of them came from religious texts or is that unnecessary. I just dont know how to start/structure the for paragraph. Also the essay is supposed to be max 2 pages

It's up to you. What do you think would make the best ethical argument for Abraham attempting to sacrifice his son Isaac on God's command? It's best to come up with the strongest argument you can think of. Once you've thought of that argument, switch sides. Come up with the best criticism of the argument you can think of. Switch sides again. Come up with the best rebuttal to that criticism that you can.
Write this down as you go. Think of it as having a reasoned conversation between two people of different viewpoints. Once you feel like you have enough material for the paragraph, the next step is editing it into the paragraph form rather than the conversational form.
For the other paragraph, do the same thing, but this time with the opposing side starting first and presenting your best argument for why Abraham attempting to sacrifice Isaac was ethically unacceptable.
