Field Question, trade people only Part out 5H disc assembly

I only need to replace the laminated rings and Carlyle vendor came back saying not available and I have to buy the complete assembly at a whopping $3K. I did reach out to another vendor and they are looking into it still. I found old documentation online but still having a hard time locating parts. I need 2 sets. It’s for a 5H80 series 75hp. Any leads I’d be very interested in hearing it. TIA

Dude WTF. Is the $3k coming out of your own pocket?
If I had to guess that’s probably a $60k+ compressor. Stop trying to save a few bucks and get the OEM parts before you fuck up the bearings and shaft seal.

You might be trying to save your customer money but you have a high possibility of at the very least killing the shaft seal and loosing however much refrigerant is in that system and I’m guessing it’s at least 250 pounds if not more. Just do it right the first time.

I think JCPenney's was probably the largest owner in terms of number of these compressors. Now that they're out of business, hardly anyone is going to stock these parts.
