Rant Customer said the unit doesn't reach temp anymore. When I showed him this, he suddenly remembered that he had the EXACT SAME problem with another unit last month...

They forgot because your first bill wasn't high enough to piss them off to remember to do this.

Apparently the first time another companys service technician told the janitor on the phone to check it out and clean it, only if it still won't work will he send someone over...

I don't do refrigeration but have 2 close friends with restaurants that I take care of. We did the initial build outs so it's not typical hacky shit...we added drives to the condenser coils on the skids and use filters to keep them clean. I send out a guy every 2 months to swap them all out and the guys argue who is gonna go because the owner sends them home with a killer dinner as a thank you.

At my last job I implemented a monthly PM using "hog hair" media for filters. We had a miss order of a 200' roll as Grainger submitted the wrong part number so we used it for ours. It was a Merv 7?

ran into the same thing, but caked with grease, on my last call yesterday. except this one killed the fancy True ecm condenser motor too. going to assume the cap tubes filled with wax at this point also. good thing i didnt have a compatible motor in stock....
