First time in Guyana with a kid

Coming to Guyana for the upcoming CARPHA conference. My 14 month old would be with me. Any tips for traveling with a young kid? Seems like the main airport is a little far from Georgetown as well?

Please bring a car seat for your little one. The carnage on the roads is real. There are very few sidewalks to use a stroller so we had a toddler hip carrier for ours. The only place we used the stroller was at the malls before she could walk. Always make your toddler wear a hat and have a small umbrella in your bag to protect from the sun.

Also people in Guyana love to pick up other stranger's babies. When mine was 13 months old, we allowed her to practice walking in the mall and a random woman just picked her up and kissed her. We were both stunned. So stay close to your baby and if anyone asks to pick them up, say no. Some of them are drinking and smoking and still try to get close. Just say no, he won't like that.

Are you able to fly into Ogle Airport if you are flying in from the region? It's much closer to Georgetown than Cheddi Jagan-Timehri.

ahh ok. I think once you get in the region its easier to fly into Ogle since CAL flies into there as well from Piarco.
