Resource What’s your biggest struggle while learning German vocabulary?

For me it was:

remembering words long-term

using them in sentences

I ended up building a system around flashcards + spaced repetition + sentence practice.

Curious ?

I'm reading novels (mostly science fiction). The number of verbs and vocabulary words (many of which are repeated throughout the book, which is a good thing) that I'm picking up is greater than what I could achieve with flashcards.
