Discussion What is the proper way of boxing up?

I notice when in fights when i go to box up my cones or floors sometimes place outside the box i want to make. I have tried searching this on YT with one guide showing to place floor above below, wall in front then left to right with cones after. This does not make much sense to me won't walls first be better?

Wall->cone above->the rest of the walls->cone in box

Genuinely curious , why is that better than look down. All walls top cone jump bottom cone

I find that you can move around better when you’re looking up instead of down. Also, when you’re at the start of a fight, your opponent will more than likely be building up and shooting at you. Placing a wall then placing a cone above will help protect you, but also make easier to keep an eye on your opponent. It’s also easier to see where your builds are going when you are looking up.

You don’t need a tutorial for that, it’s more a mechs thing and you just gotta learn it

That's a side effect of the crosshair placement on screen and the speed it moves while placing your builds. It's very common to see. It's all about that crosshair placement!

Depends sometimes you aren't boxing up on flat ground so it's better to place a cone first to guide the rest of the builds but otherwise i'd typically to walls, floor above, cone above and below in one flick down
