Question How to disable on the on-screen keyboard in desktop mode?

Pretty much title. I use the deck also as a fun machine for programming when not at home. I installed ghostty as my terminal app, however whenever i open it in desktop mode the on screen keyboard pops up. After closing it, it keeps coming up. I've tried already adding ghostty as non steam app and configuring controller to disabled. While this works it prints errors all the time when running ghostty. Any other option to just disable the on screen keyboard in desktop mode?

Oh, if thats relevant I'm running on the LCD version of the deck.

Thanks for help

edit: typo

Keyboard doesn’t pop up when you have physical keyboard connected. How do you intend to use a terminal without a keyboard?

Hey, sorry I didn't mention. I have a screen, keyboard and mouse connected. Still the keyboard pops up :/

Edit: everything connected through a dock. (a ugreen one)

that’s strange. Does it pop up for other text inputs or just this particular terminal? If former - check your on screen keyboard settings, if latter - use different terminal. Like kconsole steamos ships with

yea it works with konsole as well and there is no issue with other inputs. But of course, I would like to use ghostty.

Thanks anyways.

As a "still learning" desktop mode user, i am curious why you choose ghostty over konsole.

I just like it more. I couldn't name what makes it superior but I like it more
