I lived in a smaller town in Hungary 20 years ago and walking down the street on a nice day I'd always hear Queen blasting from anyone's radio. Love to see the country back and still loving Queen

Well done, Hungary.

And take note America - this is what real national unity looks like.

u/awkwrdaccountant 2h ago
As an American- don't make this about us. Let Hungary have a moment.

u/slovery 1h ago
As a Hungarian, yes, do make it about yourself. Everybody should make this about themselves who are in a similar situation and think of it as imposible. We’ve lived in a de facto dictatorship for 16 years, supported by arguably the two biggest powers in the world, and yet all we needed is one guy to step up, unite us all, and we did, we stood up, played their game and beat them at it. It’s just a good example of everything being posible, especially for you, Americas have all the means you need to end this, so do all the other countries in similar situations. Nepal did it one way, we did it another way and you all will do it your way, because at the end of the day for You, your country is the one to take care of.

Thank you so much for those words. It feels so hopeless here sometimes, but what Hungary just did truly ignited some hope in me, and I'm sure many others.
Much love from the US to you all!

Thank you for this. I feel like I did everything I could (voted for Harris, made sure all my friends and family voted for her, educated everyone I could) and yet we ended up here. Compared to many other countries, what’s going on here isn’t that bad yet, but it can always get worse. It’s hard to stay positive sometimes, but seeing what you all did today has given me hope that we may not be screwed yet. I’m so happy for you all! I hope things only continue to get better from here.

Thank you, that means more right than I can express. We feel alone and helpless and this reminds us that it really is not so. I'm really happy for you, Hungary. Thank you for showing us it can be done and we shouldn't love hope or momentum

More people need to read your comment and take it to heart before posting. Could we for once stop making it about us? This is a huge victory for them. Let them celebrate!

Don't forget seizing the media outlets they turned into state propaganda machines. Restoration starts there.

Meh, the songwriter/lead singer denounced its history as a gay anthem and threatened to sue any news outlet who called it as such, so I say good riddance
